This game is great. Right after that battle, you gain access to the overworld where you can develop towns, buy items, enlarge your army, and choose which battles to do. You can actually choose how your characters fight in the tactics menu, which is similar to the gambit system in FFXII. I got seven hours out of the demo, and I haven't even saved Scarlett yet.
44:40 I mean, there is a creature that is the evil counterpart to the unicorn, which spreads misfortune and is a creature of corruption where the unicorn brings blessings and is a symbol of purity, and that creature is called the bicorn, a horse with twin curled horns. And Valmore’s helm does have two horns, but that might be coincidence…

I went into this completely blind cuz I got bored one night I'm looking forward to this game I didn't even know this was by the same Developers for 13 Sentinel I love that game
This Demo is surprisingly big. I got to do a lot of side stuff before the time ran out. Can't wait for the full game.
While it seems unlikely I REALLY hope this will be released on PC one day.
same, if this does come to PC, at least this meant that there is hope for other Vanillaware games to be ported to PC as well.

I actually quite like the idea of mind control in this game - to a limit of course.
The mind control plot makes the story more believable in the sense that instead of tiny rebellion fighting overwhelming odds against a massive empire it can't realistically beat, you're slowly (un)converting the enemy to your side and slowly balancing the scales of power.
This game is so good. Easily broke into my top 5 games of all time and is very likely going to be my game of the year for 2024.
I'm about 60 hours in and just getting to the last region to explore. I really love this game. One of the best game and best tactics rpgs I've played in years.

I'm largely a PC gamer, but devs like Vanillaware really tempt me! It's a shame you didn't get to an iconic Vanillaware feature though, the food!
Unlike fe level up rng, this game has fixed stat gains at certain levels based on their growth types. There is no need to save scum level up stats because it will always be the same.
Boy am I glad to hear that. One of my guys got literally nothing on a level up
It reminds me of the original Street Fighter 2's fighting style and animations, which still looks good.
I love this game. I have never played any other Strategy RPG and oh my goodness it’s great and I will be spending way too many hours tweaking and battling and optimizing and reveling in the crazy melodramatic dialogue 😊
The animation and combat in this game remind me of Epic Seven. Cool!

Looks interesting, unit based combat like this would allow for a massive character roster if there's what looks like 10 units with about 6 characters in each with most tactics games generally giving you 2-3 times the characters you need for full deployment or the game could be restrained and just give you a reasonable number of protagonist characters and fill out the rest of the roster with random minions. Depending on the depth of the formation tactics available, the importance of character traits and equipment this could be a very involved system giving TRPG fans something to really sink their teeth into.

@Wanderbots 101:00 Josef doesn't actually hold back the rest of his squad from gaining exp, the game seems to divvy it up based on level. So Josef will get 1 or 2 exp and the other members of his squad will get the same amount as any squad without Josef in it. So unlike in Fire Emblem his high level is not going to hold you back and is only a benefit.

Using him still denies experience to lower level characters who need it more, since I can only have 3 squads with 2 people each at the moment.
It definitely will be way less of an issue as more space is gotten. Taking the spot for like 1 unit out of 12 or more makes it pretty whatever, but eating a slot when you only can field 6 things makes more than enough sense to avoid it so that 6th unit is ahead in exp that little bit. The earlier chapters don't super need him anyways.

I wish I could play this game. Being PC-only never felt so bad.
I found a damn good Vampire Survivor like. "Spell Disk" it has a unique core concept. Spell auto-casting based upon conditions assigned to the slot the spell is in. You can create some amazing synergies that rip the game a new one.
You would change the tactics and put any conditions on them, is like the gambit system from FF12
i like the look of this game gives me the same feels as ogre battle did in the past and I played the hell out of the one for snes didn't really get a chance to play the n64 one

This game reminds me a bit of an old Saturn game called Dragon Force.
They also made Princess Crown, if i remember the name correctly
I know that this isn't really the place to ask buuut.. I finished Monster Sanctuary and I was curious if you know any other monster catching games like it in terms of quality
With the riders the horse sort of pulling up short to prep for the attack looks awkward they should maintain momentum and ride past or through their targets.

@@Misakyz Well... this was something that i had asked ATLUS years ago regarding the remastered odin sphere, like a decade(?) ago and that was when they were engaging with people on their facebook and they just gave me the spiel about them being indies and do not have resource to port the game over.
So... this might be real or this might be just their script.
@@YouDonkeyfu Atlus was already a big publisher back then. I had so many Atlus games for my PS2. The devs could be a small studio, but they couldn't be indie, because they were affiliated with Atlus publisher.

Get it on the Switch. Emulating new games hurts the devs, and I for one want Vanillaware to keep making great games for as long as possible.

benching Josef is a bad move. This is a squad game, having Josef lead a squad, he can power level a lot of your other characters.
Also, really should pause when thinking.

Maybe the level up seed is set at the start of the game?
