I absolutely love this girls delivery. I've never had so much fun watching a recipe ever. definately a huge fan now. I do my ice cream cake similar I'm going to try the cake version now. I always take vanilla ice cream and dump in a bunch of cocoa powder to make a really rich semi sweet ice-cream base and then use fugeos for my middle. try it it's magic. I also do a black Forest version with a layer of sour cherry pie filling in the middle

I made this yesterday for my neighbors birthday. It was so easy and fun to make. Assembly was a breeze . Crunchies-wow! Whipped cream went on so easy. I did not have a lazy susan to spin the cake but I worked out just fine. I put sprinkles on the top and marshino cherries. Another trip to the freezer and our masterpiece was ready to serve in 2 hours. Thanks so m uch for your video. Not a speck of the cake is left! I will make this again.

This is a great recipe. Ghiradelli has a double chocolate cake mix that makes one layer 8 in round. I would chop the cookies up finer to make cutting through easier next time. It did take an overnight freeze to set up really well.

Hi there. I love this recipe, but I had a very difficult time with the whipped cream. It ran when I applied it to the cake and made a complete mess. Luckily, I added a generous topping of chocolate ganache which helped with the appearance. Next time I think I will skip the whipped cream and use buttercream icing. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks🙂
Yes mine was a disaster I fixed for my grandsons bday and it did not turn out like that for sure. Assembly was great but when it came to icing it. NO WAY. It was a mess. I worked on it so many hours and trying to fix it and make the icing thicker and everything but just kept melting and running down. I got so frustrated over it. I even put it in the freezer over night before trying to ice it. Aarrgghh.

You can also A) leave the ice cream out to soften for a while; 2) Use an oil-based cake, like Hershey's perfectly chocolate cake instead of cake mix.
