Highly versatile! Ulanzi Fast Claw Clip & Camera QR Mount System

- Ulanzi sent me a collection of camera support equipment from their Claw quick release system, so that I could take a look at it for a video. The main piece is the Fast Claw Clip meant to be attached to backpacks, belts, or straps where you can affix the camera to you while on the move. With other items like the U-100 ball head and MT-45 flexible tripod you have a lot of mounting options that are interchangeable due to the same quick release plate. If you want to quickly go from tripod photography to vlogging or safely placing it on your backpack strap, you're covered with this system.

I'd say the MT45 weak point with weight is that ball head clamping force. Once it's fully locked I can still shift it with my hands. Keep in mind you could attach a more robust head to those legs, but the legs do have a plastic construction for the top and joints. Not designed for full-frame ILCs. APS-C might be okay sometimes. Mostly for fixed lens digicams, phones, action cameras... etc.

Nice review. Are you still using ulanzi quick release system?
Yeah, I use them on the backpack strap mount in addition to a video rig most of the time. No issues besides the screw finger loop tightener thing on one or two of the quick releases doesn't have enough friction to stay flat. When I try to put the camera on the receiver side sometimes I have to kinda flatten it and connect at the same time or use gravity depending on orientation.
What happened to the MT-45? Is it discontinued? I can't find it in their website anymore.
Sorry, no idea on that. Pretty sure they sent me it through their USA store so if it's not there then chances are you can't get it.
What is a robot arm??
I don't remember what was said in this video. Could have been a joke. Or maybe I was referring to an actual robot arm like what MKBHD uses on his channel. In his case it's a large articulating robot in the shape of an arm that can be programmed to move in very exact ways. Good for speciality video work.
Now this looks like something I could use! I got a tripod with my camera and kit and the tripod head broke the third time I used it. It was made of cheap plastic. I like the look of this trap out a lot better and I think I'll probably end up ordering the claw, clip and the tripod. Thanks for the videos Scott and the links!
Glad the video was useful. I cut a lot about the other items to make the video concise, but the U-100 ball head is solid and all metal. Definitely a nice piece of kit.
The MT-45 flexible tripod and head on the other hand has quite a bit of plastic. Maybe they did it to save on weight with what a tripod like that is meant for, not sure.
