I've never been to a retreat, but it sounds amazing!The words you both spoke of encouragement have been on my mind for days now, and I just love that God placed that topic on your heart! We all need to be encouraged and loved! It's got me thinking of taking the time to notice when people need some encouragement and love to help them through their rough days, lonely days, and days of disappointment or discouragement. We even need encouragement in the good days, which helps us to keep striving and pushing forward. Life can definitely be a challenge! Love the needle minders!

Liz, That little ironing board❣️ I had one just like it as a child, but the legs on it were not painted. What made mine special was my mom bought it for herself during WWII years before I was born. My dad was in the Army training to be a Medic and she followed him as long as he was in the US. She usually found a job and rented a room in a private home, and he had to live on base. The little ironing board fit in her suitcase diagonally (she also had a small iron), and that is how she ironed her clothes as they traveled from base to base.

I'm SO happy you are back on flosstube. I've been watching and waiting for my Liz and Shellie 'fix'! The retreat and shops sound wonderful. I would be so grateful to receive one of those beautiful needle minders. Now, I have to re-watch this episode to write down some patterns, colors, etc. Thanks for spending your precious time with us and sharing your experiences and goodies.

I LOVE that small ironing board. I have my grandmothers old wooden ironing board that opens and is secured the same way. One of my treasures.

Encouragement is so necessary in life for many things. I started with cross stitching, then started making scissor fobs, then I made a needle minder. I keep making the fobs and minders, when I gift them to people, they love them.

Well, you girls! Imagine being sent to your rooms! Humph! Giggling is good! Enjoyed every moment with you both, but I think you both need a nap. When I had little ones, the only Mother's Day gift I ever asked for was an uninterrupted nap! Today I got to go to my LNS and meet...Fox & Rabbit, Bren and Karen! They were visiting the Pacific Northwest from Australia and it was a delightful time! Needle minder

I have been watching while working on a T-shirt quilt. You are so encouraging. Stitch Con will be my first retreat and I am coming alone so your words about meeting people was helpful. Plus I will be at Stitch Con A so I will get to see two of my favorite floss tubers. I love your Makers Moments. The needle minders are proof of what a giving community this is.

We all need encouragement, and it seems to be missing these days in the world We are so blessed to have such a wonderful stitching community and I am very glad you are here. I am not able to use a needle minder often as they always seem so heavy. I am always looking for new makers so I find the "perfect" one! Enjoy the beach! Spent most of my life 20 minutes from some beach or another and now we are in Kansas and I miss the sounds of the surf.

I go to retreats alone as there are no other stitchers in my area that I know of. It was weird the first time, but I got over it! Lol, I have a whole bag full of retreat pieces that I haven’t stitched as well as club pieces!!! I don’t cut my linen either. Sometimes I’m surprised when I get something out to stitch and there’s a finished piece on the other end!!! Happy Mother’s Day! My youngest and his wife are heading to the Bahamas a week from today!

Liz, you not being in the most recent video leads me to keep you in prayer for your busy growing family. Know too that your recent foray into quilting is encouraging me to try that with my daughter who has made quilts on commission. Especially since I've been trying to get her to make some project bags because she's already created two fabulous tote bags for me!

Oh so glad y’all are back and I love your pictures of your trip of all the retreaters. Y’all looked like you had a great time. I wish I could go on retreats but my health doesn’t allow me to do much. I have a health issue called Subglottic Stenosis it’s where my airway gets narrow. So it’s hard to breathe when it gets narrow. I have laser surgery to open it up but it only last a few months at a time. I’ve dealt with it for years and its so hard to do anything when I can’t breathe. But I was on CZcams one day just looking at different videos on painting furniture and decorating in farmhouse which I’ve done that. Then I came across a floss-tube of Deb and Liz from Country Stitchers and got hooked on cross stitch samplers. I love them and antique things and quilts and knitting. I’ve always wanted to do one or all of them. Then I found you guys and I love your floss tube channel and your quilt shop and antiques.I love you and Liz on there you guys are so sweet and funny. You are so encouraging and helped me to do more so I’ve only so far I’ve finished one cross stitch and even tho I’m new to it all I got a full coverage which will take 4 ever to do but love it and I got a cross stitch from Keepsakes from Barbera Surprise me Box she kitted for me on linen which I’ve only done Aida 14 count so you and her has both encouraged me to go for it which I haven’t started yet I’m working on Many Mansions from Margaret and Margaret sampler. Well I just want to thank you all for encouragement and your floss tube which I enjoy watching keep doing them you don’t know how much it helps me to see such sweet “Friends” So sorry so long just wanted to to tell you about myself and love watching you and I also follow others on CZcams and of course Instagram. I hope you get to read this and enjoy stitching quilting and all things ❤️😊

Your retreat sounded amazing. I will be attending my first one this October and am hoping to have as good of a time as you ladies have had. I don't know a soul and this will be my 1st one but I am encouraged to go and just have fun. The needle minder extravaganza looks like fun. Keep stitching ladies, you spur us all on.

I would to have a chance to go to a retreat! It sounds like what you guys were doing at your retreat is what we call a "Yankee Swap" up here in New England.........everyone gets to choose a gift, but they can also "swap" their gift for someone else's gift. The last person can choose from anyone's gift. You guys found alot of great stuff - I absolutely love the thread carousels! Such a cute needle minder - nice job Rebecca!

What a wonderful episode! Thank You Shellie and Liz! About the reproduction samplers I agree with you about putting others name or even years that aren’t about the current stitcher. I was wondering the same thing and when recently I saw a bid that wrote in the description that the sampler was from 1800, as an expert eye I could recognized that it was a reproduction and that it was stitched just a few years ago, but this make me think that there are many other who aren’t so expert and maybe they bid a earlier sampler thinking that it is ancient just because it has i.e. 1867 stitched on it. Liz, I agree with you, Sheri is lovely and her shop fantastic. Thank you again ladies for the enjoyable time spend in here. Much love from Italy.
