A salad spinner was one of my best impulse purchases years ago! We use it all the time! We of course dry salad greens, but also pasta after the cold water bath for pasta salads, berries before storing them, veggie tray fixings, etc. Our Aldi is closing for a month to finish remodeling. Freezers are good for About 48 hours with no power, as long as its not opened and full....we keep freezer packs and put frozen water bottles in spaces in ours to fill empty spaces,,we live in an area where power goes out often..

The Aldi peanut butter cups are addictive!!! Have you tried the 3 cheese tortellini? So good!! Also, the Tropical Mango water is the only water I drink.
Ayh yes, those Aldi pb cups are the bomb, so is the Choceur brand, chocolate bar with the pretzel pieces. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it in all of the Aldi stores 😢.

I knew what your response was likely to be when you picked up the frozen gnocchi. Some of their frozen meals are good and some are just not to my taste at all. I have had mixed results with the frozen Italian items when they come pre-sauced. Aldi also sometimes sells a package of plain gnocchi that is shelf stable that is decent (I believe from the Priano line), although does not quite taste as good as freshly made. I usually make plain gnocchi with a creamy pasta sauce - like butternut squash sauce (Good & Gather from Target is a very good jarred option) or vodka sauce or even Alfredo sauce. The pretty multi colored pasta Aldi sells in their black label "Specially Selected" brand is just OK - not horrible, but nothing I go out of my way to buy. It gets kind of soft and pale. You asked in a different video about Aldi's balsamic vinegar - I have not tried the Priano version as I usually buy balsamic from Trader Joe's. However, I very much have enjoyed their balsamic glaze (sold right next to it) and some of their seasonal flavored vinegars. I use the glaze drizzled over avocados and fresh mozzarella or over grilled chicken.
Someday I need to try making my own gnocchi - it seems fairly simple 🤔 The multicolored pasta we bought was ok. The texture was slightly different than what we’re used too. Barilla seems to be our fav. Butternut squash sauce would be fun to try! I’ll have to look for it the next time I go to Target.

Glad you have power back! My daughter's clinic that she owns in your town didn't get power back until about 4pm yesterday (Friday). My small town east of Decatur still has residents without power including us. The power company says the estimated restoration time is tomorrow (Sunday) evening and estimated internet restoration is July 4th. I'm thankful for our generator keeping my fridge and freezer running.
Wow. I sure hope everything is back to normal. As of a 8 days later - we have some parts of town still without power. 😬😬😬 several businesses in town are offering A/C, snacks, and an opportunity to charge phones.
Where you live, are you prone to big storms? Checkers are great fries. We have the actual Checkers hamburger shops in Florida. I like the way you just don’t go grabbing stuff to put in your cart. Till next time.
Often times storms miss us and hit surrounding areas. We do live in a neighborhood more prone to power outages, though. I’ve never been to a Checkers hamburger shop. That might be fun to try sometime.
My power has been out for about 39 hours now and still out. We probably got the same storm we are in southern indiana. We have our generator hooked up but no a/c just a new fan. But I have my fridge and deep freezer plugged in. No way to cook except grilling outside and eating sandwiches. I’m getting really tired of this.

We lost power for only nine hours but some more rural folks have been told not to expect it for a week!
Crazy times. We have a few thousand people currently without power 8 days later. I sure hope things get back to normal for them.

When we have lost electricity I found that if the freezer is packed and you don't open it the food will stay frozen for 48 hours or longer.
