Happy National Knife Day! Tell us what you're carrying on this momentous occasion! We're also doing a knife AMA! Leave your comments here, and Spencer and George will answer them all day.
Enjoy the video guys. HKD! I carry an old benchmade, and when I mean old, I mean old. 1997 was the year that I was on board the USS Constellation in the Persian Gulf. I saw a magazine in the ship's library and pulled a card out and mailed it to get a benchmade knife catalog. I saw the Spec War Model CQC 7 (Emerson design) and bought it. It flew out to the ship like a month later and I'm still carrying it since 1997.
Spencer and George killing it again! Just for the record, y’all should never apologize or feel embarrassed for showcasing knives that BladeHQ doesn’t stock. I found y’all’s website through this CZcams channel, and the knife I wound up buying is one that literally never once got mentioned in any Knife Banter content. I’d rather see someone passionately discuss their Chinese-made Paraframe knock-off that they bought at a tractor supply store than see someone just go through the motions of trying to hype up some new release that they have no personal investment in. Bring in the obscure, the cheap, the old- anything that is deeply loved by its owner.
I like that! Most of us found Blade HQ somewhere along our knife journey (myself included). We just hope people come and stay! Happy National Knife Day, buddy! -George
Love the pocket check vids. Met Dallas at blade show in Atlanta and he pocket checked me… highlight of the day. Also want to mention that I spoke to a ton of people that day and everyone was super nice but Dallas was by far the friendliest and the best conversation of the day.
Happy National Knife Day, I am from Algeria, we don't have a National knife day and carrying a knife is illegal, but I have one in my pocket, it's a red Swiss army knife (Victorinox - climber) and it's a life saver. I've never being in a life or death situation (like MacGyver always does) but it's nice to have it as an EDC. thank you folks for this video.
Glad to see Dallas again! The quality of these videos keeps getting better. Thank u! This was the best pocket dump vid since George was carrying that white Kalashnikov from his wife! Also love the Barnes - saving up as we speak! Carried a blade hq exclusive black micarta Pena trapper, natural jade Pena Apache and a black victorinox tinker for the occasion. Happy national knife day to all and sweet duster Spence! 👨🏼
Maya rock'n a Pro-Tech Malibu Operator - mega respect. That's a great knife and kudos for managing to get your hands on one. Today I have a Spyderco Native 5 Blackout in my pocket. Why? It just connects with me and meets my EDC needs just nicely. Thanks for getting the vids up and running again - was bit of a drought there for a while. Sharp blades to all on Knife Day!!
Hey yall! I bought a Benchmade 806 and a 710 about 22 to 24 years ago and carried them for the last of my Army career and although I have bought many knives since then these 2 always end up back in my pocket.
keep the content coming! I was nervous with that brief time out a few months ago... i had to go and watch previous content... thanks from keeping me hooked to my bladehq addiction
This was a fantastic episode folks! What a great collection of blades. George’s carry was right up my ally - throw in a victorinox 2 layer (my preferred is a Scientist). Loved this!
I carry a Microtech UTX-85. I work as a Fire-alarm Technician, and I'm almost always working on a ladder with all my tools layed out on the top step fighting for space. Sometimes, those tools fall. And when my knife falls, it's nice knowing the blade will never open on impact, and dent the blade or snap the tip. My poor Osborne 940 had to get the tip reprofiled 3 times, because I knocked it off my ladder and it would violently bounce around the concrete floors.
Great video, I have been carrying a 940-1 Osbourne for the past 4 months. I carried a PM 2 for almost a year before that but The tip broke off of it and I was constantly struggling with pocket falling off because the screws wouldn’t stay tight. I had problems with Benchmade prior to this but after more research I decided to give the Osbourne a try. It was the best decision I ever made.
Like it or not, a lot of Chinese production knives are really nice and absolutely worth purchasing. So while it’s cool to see an uncommon knife in a pocket check, the rest of your comment added nothing of value to the conversation.

I bought the Protech Terzuola ATCF Tuxedo w/ black DLC blade the day before national knife day at The Blade Bar inside Texas Gun Experience. One of the best knife shops I’ve been in. I happened to be in Dallas Texas for training, but the instructor unfortunately had a bad fall day one of a week long course. Class was canceled and I was kinda stuck there until I could get a return flight home. So I went to Texas Gun Experience by DFW airport to make a day of shooting a bunch of full auto guns like the MG-42, MP-40, SBR AK-47, MP5 suppressed, and a BAR. Stumbled into a knife shop inside the gun shop. Was blown away by their selection. Almost pulled the trigger on a Norseman or a Medford. That would of made it a really expensive day. Then that Protech caught my eye and I remember missing out on the original drop with the stone wash blade. I’m glad I didn’t buy then because now I see the black DLC makes the 2 tone tuxedo look even better. Also who doesn’t like Magnacut steel. Happy National Knife Day🎉🗡🔪⚔️🎉

@@BladeHQ - George, I have a lot of knives in my collection, and all the way from the highest end knives I own, down to the Kissing Cranes I bought on a lark, the Nightshade stands out for it's slicey-ness and the action. It's a workaholic.

@@BladeHQ I love the blade shape especially. The two of the ones I ordered from you guys yesterday were the Esee 3 and Esee Izula 2. I thought about the Xancudo (fixed version) but I wanted something with a little tougher steel.
I was skeptical about James Brand but I took a chance and bought the Carter xl I believe it’s called, the micarta is excellent and it’s contoured, there is very little hardware showing and everything is well thought out. Is it expensive for VG10, micarta and a crossbar lock? Yeah a little but very few folding knives have contoured micarta, who ever is doing their oem is heat treated the vg10 very very well. The action is perfect, smooth but not floppy if that makes sense. A knife’s price isn’t just the materials, it’s also the design, the fit and finish, and it’s one of my favorite knives, it’s getting carried almost as much as my Real Steel Pathfinder Folder Scandi grind. If Real Steel would have contoured the scales like the Carter then it would be hands down the perfect knife.
Great video guys. Cool pocket dump George. I like the paracord watch strap.
