My ng900, which I believe has the same suspension as a viggen, feels great after a taliaferro steering rack brace and clamp. Maybe I just got used to it after 15 years. Both 9000 and 9-5 have better steering rack setups. Right hand drive ng900 crack the firewall because of this, afaik. I don't think there are any electronics/computers in the ng900 or og9-3 other than a clock spring.
I drove a stock Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon recently, with a 5-speed, and it really got me into wanting a turbo FWD car. It would be cool to have a 9-3 like in this video but my ideal daily driver would have a lot of room and be a sleeper, so maybe a 9-5 Aero (maybe wagon) would be ideal.
I've had a modified ng900 for 15 years. 340k. Could use a new body. At this point I'm shopping for a bad engine 99 9-3 or a 9-5 aero wagon. I love my 900, but I also Loooove sleeper wagons. Maybe a wagon is a natural progression from a hatchback.
As long as the ECU still runs Trionic 7, boost is not that important. It's all down to air mass, and ignition. I know Rolf Uhr of Nordic and got a ride in one of the customer cars he was building. It was a ng9-3 from like 2004. Had a GT30 and put out around 600hp. Here in Sweden where E85 is everywhere we all run BioPower software which adapt to any mixture between petrol and E85. It's all very simple actually. I would not recommend E85 for you TurboX though as it increases consumption a lot. My 2007 9-5 2,0 Auto uses 12,5 litres / 100km. I've heard numbers at or above 20 litres/ 100km for a turboX running E85. BTW, I've just been to my mechanic and did some work on my ng9-5, among other things, got the Hirsch Stage 1. @@AutoAutopsy I recommend anyone requiring Ethanol blends to get a gauge that can report the level you have in the tank. I am running a Banks iGauge SuperGauge along with my AEM X-Series UEGO wideband setup (that gauge just sits buttoned up under the dash, I wish AEM would have made it so you don't have to use their gauge in the path of the wiring, but the gauge houses all the 'brains' of the setup and communicates it back to the OBD2 port. The Viggen is one of the coolest modern Saabs. It's second only to the Turbo X. Especially one of our 211 😉
For sure!
The Turbo X with the V-6 is far too heavy, due to that GM supplied engine block....

Viggen isn't all that much different from a base model if you are going for big power. Turbo, suspension, clutch, etc. will be redone anyway.
If anything viggen might be a little worse cause all the viggens these days are really high mileage and still expensive
