    I love this beautiful orchestration! I also love "Quo Vadis Domine" composition. I watched this movie as a child, growing up in a Christian family my dad made sure we watched, Quo Vadis, Ben Hur, El-Cid, The Robe and the list goes on and on. These are movies young people need to watch in this generation so that they will appreciate what other generation went through for us to have the life we have now.

      I love these classic movies with a Christian theme. Nothing today can match them. When I was 9 years old, my church had an extra ticket to Ben Hur. It was shown on a big screen in a beautiful theater in down town Chicago. Wow I still remember the Chariot race. It seemed so real. In the 1990’s I saw Chuck Heston speak at a political function. He was still a big guy, but very charismatic. R.I.P. Ben Hur.

    Basically, this is the closest we can be to hearing how the music in the Roman Empire sounded.

    The Glory of Rome, the most powerful Empire on Earth, with the Chinese Empire. A pity the encounter failed, because of the Parthians, another great empire. Until the Mongol Empire, nothing so powerful on Earth was ever seen. And that was the time of the Pax Romana, not like now...

      @@thegreatestshenfan6484 *coughs* London was founded by the Romans together with other English cities, like York. Without Rome, probably Brits would still be living in tribes. The English national flag, the Saint George Cross, originally was the symbol of the Italian city of Genoa. UK is nothing but a rib of the Italic culture mixed with Celtic and Germanic one. And about the glorious royal family? Descendants of Germanic barbarians.

      dorian waiken In our heart Rome is "Invicta", the majesty, the history, the indescribable power that you feel when you walk in the streets of Rome is always nowdays incredible, that's why the Roman Empire was never defeated, its magnitude is still present in occident and in the middle east. In other words, Rome is still present in this part of the world. That's for me, a "Roma Invicta".
      Oh and please, don't tell something about WW2 and Italy, Italy was never ready for the war, Mussolini just fallow in the hurry (and I will never forgive this to him) your fucktard Hitler and your germans fulls who had any sence of strategy for attacking the Russians. Thanks God, Germany deserve what they deserve, to lose with no honnor, without fighting till the death in Berlin.
      Huh... when I think that the German Reich just lasted for 4 years... Roman Empire for 1500 years.
      PS: My grandfather was alsow an Italian Soldier in Greece, and he told me that his sergeant said one time "If those fucking Germans are going to kill me, just take your pistol and shoot at me. I'll better die killed by an Italian brother, than for those barbarish Germans". Italians seems to have honnor at least.

      Internume First: "lasted for 1500 yrs" Hm it is more like a 1000 yrs, from the rule of Italian Peninsula in 500 BC until the fall of Rome in 476 AD. And the last decades the "Empire" was just the city of Rome since germanic kingdoms spread all over italian sole. Second: Therefore Roma wasnt lasting longer than the Germanic Empire (in its different Phases), which was established in the 9th century AD and ultimately fell in 1918. Third: Roman Empire (and of course the Germanic Empire too) is nothing against Aegyptian rule which lasted for about two or three thousand yrs with hundreds of Pharaos in dozens of dynasties. Fourth: Of course it is a benefit to human mankind that Hitler and the Nazis are defeated. But I tell you a secret: Nazis werent just Germans! ;-) There were Nazis in every european country and they all did help to organize the Holocaust. Last but not least the Italian fascists. And you have more fascists today than we have. Sixth: What honour do you mean? Ancient Rome was full of honour - todays Italy is just full of Mafia. But keep your dreams on. The only thing you'll have, amice… ;-)

    • @Internume
      @Internume Před 9 lety +3

      dorian waiken Seems you forget the last 1000 years of the empire (yes, the eastern Empire (bizantin Empire) is still the Roman Empire).. And in 500 before Christ it was not the Empire, but the republic. Therefor, if we take in mind the republic + the Empire, it's 1550 + 750 years before Christ, that make 2300 years.
      Oh and, fascists are not racist by the way. They helped Hitler because they were allies, but the fascist ideology is not racist.
