Hi Ophelia, excellent video. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m not in UK yet but planning to move over for retirement and set up a company for buy to let property business. Just wonder if I can set up a small LTD in the UK without NI now? Also, can I open a bank account for the company while I’m still in HK? Pls kindly advise. Thanks.

我的情況, 是由美國一家公司每月支付一個 Consultant Fee 匯入英國予本人. 美國公司在英國沒有分公司, 本人是 WFH, 主要透過電郵電話工作. 這樣我是否屬於自僱人士? 是否必須要開公司才可以申報NI及Income Tax? 如果開公司, 是否仍要看美國公司的 turnover 及 balance sheet 的銀碼, 及美國公司的員工數目, 以決定我公司是否落入 IR35的範圍以內? 謝指教.

Hi Ophelia, if I want to set up a company to hold a property, I don’t literally have any clients.. does it mean I can still decide my limited company is within IR35 and therefore the company can pay the corporation tax at 18% only? Thanks!
Hi Doreen, yes you can set up a LTD company to hold a property, you won't fall under IR35 as its limitations are only for contractors. 😊

請問，雖然Corporate tax rate 比income tax rate 低，但corporate 的盈利，將佢draw 出黎，真正入自己袋，也產生income tax 同dividend tax
豈不是納嘅稅，同打工形式收人工納income tax 差不多？
係, 不過Corporate tax+ dividend tax 加埋都冇40% income tax 咁多, 同埋仲可以攞expenses.

最好註冊公司, 因為責任問題同埋交稅會方便啲. 交稅方面要每年自己做self assessment 比HMRC.

yes absolutely! or if you use an accountant firm, they can usually put their address on your register so all the tax return and letters will go to your accountant instead.

請問IR35,係咪都係可以扣取cost 例如office rent (home office ) 之後再計個20%稅項。
