  • This video provides a brief introduction to SDG 7 and its targets.
    Wondering what SDGs are?
Today, societies are facing unprecedented and pressing social and environmental challenges, which have the potential to put a question mark over our very existence. To deal with these challenges, the United Nations has put forth an ambitious Agenda 2030 which lists out the Sustainable Development Goals agreed on by stakeholders from around the world in 2015. These goals are a call for action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity and overall transformative action towards sustainability. UN SDG # 7, " Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable & Modern Energy for All," provides a pathway to peace, prosperity, and resilience from an individual to society, to the country to the Globe. The UN, and all international developing Banks like ADB, WB, EIB, and KfW including IMF, etc. are eager to support technically, as well as financially for the realization of UN Agenda 2030, for Sustainable Development. The Agenda's Goal 7 is, to' Ensure Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable and Modern Energy inclusively for human beings so that the average rise in planet temperature as compared to 1972, is not increased beyond 1.5 celcilus.
