In this video you will see Brad and Sam install 2018 Ford F150 custom Leadfoot Gray emblems on my VMP ODIN supercharged truck. We searched CZcams for the best way to do this mod and decided we had to find a better way. This video is entertaining and will teach anyone how to do this mod. We even did a burnout test on our new replacement emblems, because why not... THE VMP ODIN SUPERCHARGER IS AWESOME and it is on display again in this video!

Ford F150 Emblem Replacement Mod 2018-2020 in Leadfoot Grey - Burnout Test!
2020 f150 3.5 Lariat. This videos method worked on my truck like clockwork. I opened up the shutters a tiny bit by hand. 1/4" ratchet with extension to remove the 10mm nuts. I used a magnet to pick the nuts off of the bottom splash guard. I threaded the new emblem before assembly. Stuck emblem in grille and used tape to hold the 10mm nuts on the socket. Reattached hood closer and BAM...35 mins start to finish.

Best and most detailed video I've seen on how to install these, thanks so much for taking the time. I have my OEM tailgate emblem ready and now I'm gonna bring you guys with me out to the garage and hit replay and figure this thing out. As far as the burnout, it looks spectacular but until I've seen more to compare them with, not sure I'm qualified to rate it =) Let's say a 9 - I'll leave a little wiggle room for the next one =)

I purchased custom emblems too from OEM Auto Art on eBay. Very happy with them. Luckily I didnât have any fitment issues. It went right on with no gaps. Great video!

i just tried this method on my 2023 and the electric air vent shutter makes it more challenging. It was easier to change out by taking front grill out. đđ
Great video, love the idea of screwing the nuts on first so they will be easier after in place. Now I just need to get mine ordered.

Great video, seen these badges, been thinking I would just dip mine, bit maybe this would be better. Awesome burnout, but also why I don't do burnouts in my F150...the one tire track lol. Good job guys!
I love the deconstructed, painted badges. They hold up great and are OEM quality. We changed the factory diff a few videos later and this thing lays em thick now.

Wait how did you do that burn out? You lightly hold your brakes and step on the gas?
If your F-150 has the louvers behind the grilleâŠthis wonât work for you. Still an entertaining video though. Pulling the grille isnât that hard
You can twist the louvers by hand and move them out of the way.
Great video. I messed up my emblems with vinyl overlays after I removed them. Now I have to replace both. Cheap Etsy vinyl crap! Ugh
How many times has your truck been back to the stealership to be fixed cause youve toasted ypur tranny and what not..i can only imagine with these new ford theu break down once a week

overall score = burn out score plus cool factor bonus.
score matrix: 1 to 5 with 5 being the best.
perfect score = 10 + cool factor
your burn rating = an epic 5
your burn length = an epic 5
one wheel penalty factor = /2
your overall burnout score = 10/2 = 5
cool factor bonus = 2
total burnout score = 7

I suggest buying them from TC Customs. They are a Ford dealer and custom make them and color match all Ford colors. Use promo code BACKROAD for a little discount. They do. Give them a call and get set up. They match paint codes to a T.
What exhaust do you have on your truck
What headlights are those? And how are they holding up so far?
This wonât work if you have the flaps that close on startup. Iâm a pretty skinny guy and my hand wonât even fit through them. Better off just taking the grill off.
If you don't start your truck then you can open them manually. It won't break anything.

What size was the bit used for the bolt for the front emblem? I watched how to take the grille off and to hell with that, I got the sport package so Iâd have to pop off the side of my fenders too and I donât feel Comfortable doing that

The vinyls are a lot a lot easier. They look 85% as good. I think Ford sells black and white emblems. See if there are any on eBay.
@@BackroadDriver thanks. Iâm torn đ. The letters o. The emblem are slightly embossed so that would affect the look of the vinyl but as you saidâŠmuch easier.
Are those aftermarket headlights? If so who makes them?
This truck is a Lariat Special Edition that can with these lights and a hockey stick stripe kit. Ford probably sells them but Anzo lights would be cheaper.

They are the BLIS lane warning lights. Do you have that option?

You might be able to but I would bet that not having a BLIS specific module of some kind would cause the blis to not work.
I bought some emblems but the front doesnât seem to have that black plastic trim around it. Did I get the wrong emblems ?

What etsy seller did you purchase these emblems from? I have the same grey ford and would love to find those badges.
That seller isnât on there any longer. I suggest doing a google search and find a company that makes them to order and make sure you get the correct emblems.
@@BackroadDriver thatâs a shame. Havenât had any luck finding them anywhere. Just decals that go over the emblem. The only emblem replacements I have found donât offer that color. Itâs ok. Iâll leave the stock ones on.

You guys didnât have the active grill shutters (louvers )on this truck to navigate through did you? When your doing a Close up I canât see them behind the grill.

Not yet. Did not have one from the factory but we are installing aftermarket. Thanks for subscribing. Big plans for the truck.
@@BackroadDriver curious if you have the larger rear in this or the super 8.8? The super 8.8 34spline doesn't have many good options for lockers
I have the super 88. In a more recent video we changed the whole setup in the rear. We got it right now.

So I just got these same emblems from OEM auto art for my XLT. I purchased Lariat Sport grill that has the color match which looks way better than the gray XLT. My big question is where can I get those weird nuts for the grill emblem? The "pegs" on the grill emblem don't have any threads on them so I don't see how they tighten down to the grill. Do I need to use the ones off my XLT grill emblem and are they the same?
You should be able to reuse those nuts. They twist and press. More press on than twist.
@@BackroadDriver OK great thanks. Do you think the local dealers have those nuts? It would just be easier I think to stop and pick them up rather than take the emblem off the old XLT grill.
They should. It is a common part.
Did you have to do any trimming to get them to work? Or did they fit out of the box?
We had to Dremel tool the top middle and bottom middle to make it sit flush on our grill. We wanted it perfect so there will be a little trimming to make it sink down perfect on your grill. Thanks for checking us out!

These come on the Lariat Special Edition. This truck had the red and black stripe package as well.
