    Nice Review 👍. You could try Mojo2's crossfeed function to make them sound like speakers. That should work for the 'Classical Gas' song. Cheers 😇

    I'm told that Rob Watts himself said that the inclusion of Balanced would have a deleterious effect on the sound due to the way the Mojo is configured.

      It's the capacitors that makes it less detailed I have modified a few mojos

    Mojo is a single-ended design. A balanced headphone output would require signal conversion. That would mean possibly larger chassis, more battery power used, would unnecessarily increase the price of the device and could even degrade the sound if not done properly, that is if fair budget not spent for the conversion. All of that totally pointless, with no sound quality gain whatsoever for the end listener. Apart from their empty satisfaction of using balanced output.
    Also the use of USB-C did not do anything for the sound quality. Still the same USB Audio 2.0 protocol is being used. But it certainly increased the cost of chassis mod. This shows the stupidity of some 'audiophiles' who shed tears on forums, because 'their smartphone uses USB-C'.
    Many 'freshmen' audiophiles became smartphone fashion followers and cry babies, trying to tearfully apply their fashion into the world of faithful music reproduction. Very sad. And really, really stupid, because of the additional cost and design compromise it took for Chord to add USB-C for the cry babies' sake.

      I don't care about balanced jack, but USB-C is NEEDED for the sake of convenience. It's no longer convenient to purchase a short USB A/USB C to micro USB, I can't even find any on the market where I live. At some point convenience starts to gain a bit more importance, I can just use the cable I have to connect my Mojo 2, I'm still not happy about charging via the micro port though. Why does inconvenience makes you an audio enthusiast 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

    So you can basically run through the mojo 2 not so good mastered tracks, record output to daw for example and have decent result, better than they were before

    Hi everybody, I owned the mojo 2
    And I bought a mojo to modify. Believe me, the mojo one is a mojo 2 when you modify it,
    The output capacitors degrade the sound of the mojo shut in and veiled sound without mods

    What are your thoughts about the Mojo 2 in a hifi setup?

  • @Wnuwk

    Hey, thanks for your review! It got me to doubt getting the Mojo2 though, as I listen to a lot of metal and perhaps some less than perfect recordings… Would the first Mojo be the better choice for me, you think?

  • @Gullsz
    @Gullsz Před 2 lety +8

    Here's my take on the mojo 1. Ok, so it sounds great through headphones or a hifi. However, it isn't mobile joy, more like mobile frustration.
    It is too big to fit in your pocket along with your phone, even a small phone. This confinement causes it's buttons to be pressed, turning it off. Why no option to lock the buttons. The confinement also causes your phone's touch screen to activate. I tried a screen lock app, but obviously it won't lock the mojos buttons.
    Also, the confinement causes the usb to be bunched up and loose it's connection. Sometimes this results in the worst noise you will ever hear in your life. Why don't they have a protection feature to stop this. The noise is so bad it could literally give some people a heart attack. Finally, there is no EMF shielding. It picks up the noise from your phone if it is next to it. Turning on airplane mode solves this, but then you can't receive calls.
    If your're after great sound you will only get it if you use this as a desktop device. It isn't mobile in the slightest.
    Also, it picks up awful noise when charging through a usb cable. It can only be used unplugged from a charger.

    Got my mojo 2 about a month now, Iistening right after switched on, can be described as rather unpleasant, treble are harsh, bass are loose and imaging are all jumbled up. It'll need 15-20mins to warm up ,then one noticed a dramatic improvement. Anyone experienced this as well?

      yes, warm up is a real thing. The change in tonality is quite astounding.
      I was wondering too why nobody is mentioning this.
      Mojo 2 is insanely good product, possibly life changing

      Convince Me Audio has mentioned a half hour warm up period. I take his opinions fairly seriously so maybe this is the case, can’t comment personally though I love Mojo 1.

    • @robertaksland1471
      @robertaksland1471 Před 10 měsíci

      Balanced output does not affect the sound other than its increased power on most amps. An unbalanced output will sound better than a balanced if the power is higher.
