Let's go! Panther fans we are getting our franchise QB đ
You can hear the excitement in his voice and how pleased he is with CJ there is no way CJ does not go number one
he's the safer pick not necessarily the best.

As a Panthers fan really glad we got McCown on our staff. This dude knows how to break it down for QBs. You can tell he really likes how CJ plays.
Man. This video is SO cool. The complexity of college QB play is crazy. Very rare human ability.
This video elevates Paris Johnson at LT as you can see him blocking against. Jalen Carter not getting pushed around definitely a top ten talent. In this upcomming draft
The RG and C too!
Carter did have his lowest PFF grade in this game, in the low 60âs, just for a reference

Yes sir
Nowhere in my book is Bryce is in front of CJ. He just doesn't make the tight window throws CJ can make at a consistent basis. CJ don't have small hands.
Bryce Young has that it factor Ohio State QBs don't they look like frogs in the NFL and will struggle with out top tier talent around him đ€Ł
@@turds1991 I mean letâs not pretend like Bryce doesnât have tons of weapons in Alabama as well though lol
Sure does
Sure does
I love both QBs. Bryce Young didnât have the crazy offensive fire power Ohio state did this year and you can see that. Bryce young is throwing dudes open, heâs throwing with NFL anticipation. Heâs gotta be more accurate, I think every QB should work on that. But imo itâs a toss up between him and CJ. I love both.
This is why Josh stuck around the NFL all of those years, he's like an extra assistant coach with a number... Welcome aboard, Josh, I hope that you will be working very closely with CJ Stroud of THE Ohio State University...
I just hope that Carolina actually gets some O linemen to protect Stroud. If not, he's gonna get Burrow'd...
@@JoSeeFuss Well, I think they just re-signed Bozeman, and there could be some more additions. Overall, though, the O-Line played pretty well after Bozeman became the starting Center, and Matt Drhule got fired.
â@@JoSeeFuss it's clear you are not a real panther fan because you would know our line is good
â@@JoSeeFuss They are returning everyone on the Oline and will most likely draft a guard in the later rounds.
Nope!
CJ anticipation may be overshadowed by his ball placement. Both at the highest level! Wow-factor with this guy has a very high floor!
I had the same thoughts that Josh did when watching CJ very much a Joe Burrow type player..
@@hunterjackson4641 Burrow showed better pocket presence and mobility in college and the ability to improvise more. Heâs also more accurate and processed defenses faster. However, he was also 23 while Stroud is 21, so the last one is a mute point.
Burrow is the best college QB prospect Iâve ever seen, as close to a sure thing as you can get. Lawrence is 2nd, but Bryce Young, if he was bigger would be #2
@@brendonbuffaloe8830 Burrow and Luck are the best sure thing prospects ever.. Yes burrow SHOWED better mobility and pocket presence but only because he HAD TO show it.. Iâm an LSU fan, have been my entire life.. Joey is special.. CJ is Joe Burrow-lite⊠heâs more athletic then he showed because he didnât need to.. he didnât run as much as everyone would like because he didnât need to.. I love a QB who plays within himself and just does what he needs to do.. Joe needed to be mobile and make big plays with his feet so he did, CJ didnât need to do he didnât.. whoever overthinks CJ because of âathleticismâ concerns is gonna regret it tremendously.. heâs a hyper competitor same as Joe, heâs got an edge to him, same as Joe.. and he gets through his progressions extremely well, not as well as Joe.. but heâs up there
@@hunterjackson4641 I wasnât saying CJ canât do those things. I understand that his OLine was great and that tends to make people think that heâs immobile. Iâm not saying he is. Burrow navigates the pocket better (not scrambling, but stepping up, back, or to the side to evade pressure), and heâs more accurate. I like Stroud, but I think he is Burrow-Lite with a capital L. CJ had plays where he tried to extend and create something from nothing, but until the Georgia game, he almost never succeeded when trying to do it. However, there is something to be said about a guy who plays his best in big moments. Burrow has a swagger (borderline arrogance) that is infectious, but I liken Stroud more to Deshaun Watson at Clemson in terms of finding a way to score when it matters most (not in play style). Stroud could be really good, but I wouldâve bet my life on Burrow being a top 5 QB. I canât say the same thing about Stroud
@@brendonbuffaloe8830 also burrow had better weapons all around at lsu
They are now getting him
I know things didn't go great in Cleveland, but I loved McGown while he was there. He gave it all and is tough as shit. Glad to see him making great videos like this. The dude knows football
Browns fan and loved Josh. Was a class act and consummate pro.
Must be tough for Panther fans to watch this video, given how CJ has progressed. Bryce Young still has potential, but the Panthers must take note of what the Texans did to improve their roster, giving CJ the best opportunity to succeed.
đđđđ
They fired Mcnown too đđđđ
This vid just showed up (gotta love the YT algos) so first time watching SCHEME - this is high-quality analysis. One of the best QB breakdowns I've watched. Love all the fine details presented by Coach McCown (two hands on ball, moving the pocket, what Georgia may run on 3rd down, etc.). Coach Day can scheme guys open as they did with RB TD on the pipe route.... Coach's explanation on what D's you can run that against was huge value. As mentioned, this was against a quality defense with future league players. Coach pointed out "accuracy" as the top skill needed at the next level. Young guns, HS QBs, there's a ton of value you can take from this video. New sub here.
Stroud is THE franchise guy in this class. A big, silky smooth pocket passer with moxie. He will establish Carolina as an NFC power for the next decade plus
CJ Stroud you are a Carolina Panther
its impossible to know if the Panthers have CJ locked in as the number 1, but man Josh is really selling it here. they did their due diligence either way between him and Bryce
Great stuff guys. Love these breakdowns
I am excited to see this young man play NFL. Ball security is a whole different thing in the big league and the pass rushers he will face are bigger faster stronger and most importantly smarter. I hope the Panthers can be patient if things are not perfect in his first season because he is as good a prospect as I have seen.

Great video guys, McCown off the charts with his observations. Stopping video and then letting it go feels like a locker room video session.
I honestly am okay with either at #1 tbh either way I think Carolina finally has its franchise QB which Iâm so ready for after all this time
Stroud is an amazing QB. We were lucky to have him. Any team that drafts him is getting a true warrior. O-H !
And yet he was out performed by Stetson Bennett against top-25 competition during the season.
@@PK1982_ and yet, here you are.
@@dogedave3188 yes, I am. Have a problem with free speech? I don't, but I have issues with the fake news sports media hyping everything and everyone associated with the supposed "greatness" of Big 10 football particularly Ohio State, when it's a comparatively weak conference when measured against the SEC.
Even Stroud's own fan base dogged him out for practically his entire career at Ohio State because he would not tuck the ball and run to extend plays when needed the most.

Interesting and awesome analysis.
I got into a discussion about Duggans interception on the deep post against Georgia and my comment was that it was just a horrible pass behind and over the desired location. He had Q Johnson WIDE OPEN by 10-15 yards had he thrown it on the left hash. But he almost hit the right.
In contrast is the Stroud throw which is 35 yards deep and about 25-30 yards across where the WR has a trailing DB and a deep safety and stroud throws the WR open. Just drastic difference.
Yes because one is an elite NFL QB and the other is just an average college QB

McCowan: All this math going on in his head...in nanoseconds.
I am not a huge sports guy (more of a computer guy) so I don't know if this kind of thinking is a commonplace in sports, but I have many times thought about basketball in exactly the way McCown spoke about Stroud's almost instantaneous calculations of positions, speed, angles, probabilities, etc. I have often said that if Michael Jordan's brain was a huge computer on the grid, the lights in Chicago would have flickered in the instants when MJ was at the top of the circle deciding on a defended drive to the basket. How are the defenders going to move? How far do they have to move or reach the ball? How fast are they? How long are their arms? Their legs? How tired are their legs? How high can they jump? And how can I weave through all of that (probably at least two major variations with a variety of adjustments). Is ~my~ speed, height, jump, reach, etc.enough to get it done. What are the odds? Although all this goes on in a flash without benefit of a calculator, whiteboard, etc., it is undeniable that MJ's brain was doing math, lots and lots of math, and at near the speed of light.
Best QB in the draft and the last 2 years in college football đ!!!!
Absolutely here and seeing the message clearly
McCown has a super strong ass chin yođ much love brother from a tx native!
The Panthers are absolutely loaded with QB minds on their staff with Reich, McCown, and Caldwell
But the fans are stuck on Stroud....what if the coaches like one of the other guysđ€·đżââïž
Outside of the Michigan and Northwestern games(terrible weather) he is a really good prospect. I love his accuracy and he played his best game against Georgia, who is loaded.
Northwestern the ball was rolling away in the wind before they came to the line. No one could pass the ball. Mich he completes 65% 31-48 for 350yds. They had no RBs left that werent hurt. That slowed their Offense
Dude, you NAILED IT by having this video.
Man that Joe borrow comp is getting me

Would love to hear/see the player's thoughts on these analysis. Great show like always. Thank you
Love this feature...good work Josh.
Being a Panthers fan, I can confidently say that CJ will do what Cam couldnât: bring a Lombardi Trophy back to Charlotte.
Great video guys. I think Stroud got a lot of unfair criticism from the fanbase this year. You had fans questioning his leadership and toughness by comparing him to this or that teams' QB. I think Josh would agree that to play that level of football you can't be weak or meek. What he showed against GA wasn't anything new. The difference is you had that break between games to get as many people healthy enough to, or give replacements enough time to, get a solid game plan down for GA. The season did not play out in a vacuum. You saw a lot of key players in and out or completely lost for the year. There wasn't a consistent squad week to week .It just a shame OSU didn't have a healthy enough team to be full throttle most of the year. Finally, it disingenuous for a fan to think CJ balled out against GA because "he finally listened to criticism and took their advice". That's an insult to the hard work he put in. Those people aren't as important as they think. Anyway, thanks Josh for the breakdown.
I was more disappointed with jsn the stroud
@@imakebeatsxwillfrmda6230 It wasn't JSN's fault he pulled his hamstring. From everything I've heard about the kid, he's a hard worker and team player. There's lots of negative takes floating around about why he didn't come back but from what I've heard from his family, teammates, coaches and JSN himself, he really wanted to and tried to come back and play. This is coming from the people closest to him so I'll take their word over some TV pundit or podcaster who gets their info from anonymous "sources". It sucks because we could have used him.

Can you guys bring him and Bryce Young to tell us what they saw and thought before making those significant plays? Theyâre certainly the top ABs for the upcoming draft. Whoever goes #1 would be more of a flavor thing.
Bryce is definitely the better player. If he was the same size as Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow, he would be the slam dunk #1 pick. The ONLY knock against him is size
True.. not by, much but true
â@@brendonbuffaloe8830 unfortunately his size is a gargantuan knock; not just on account of being swatted, but also his durability. I would love it if we drafted him and he works out though, seems like an incredible player in every aspect.

Yoooo, I am so looking forward to the draft. Feels like it couldn't come quick enough. Although if it not CJ then who right. Maybe Richardson. I'm sick of hearing about young. Everyone on staff on the offense side of the ball has all been very successful with Qb's 6'3 and up. Flacco, Manning, Stanford all Superbowl Qb's. Coach and Josh respectfully were tall Qb's. When you look at the staff, our offensive staff all coached rookie QBs
Slowik- Lance and Purdy, veteran Garrapolo
Shane Day- Justin Herbert and veteran Garrapolo
Bill Lazor- Justin Fields
Jerrod Johnson is a veteran teacher- Kirk Cousins
DeNarius McGhee- Davis Mills
That staff was intentionally created for CJ. All are teachers of rookie QBs. This is a great staff that all came from different teams and cultures. Jerrod Johnson and DeNarius McGhee are both former record setting QBs that were very mobile. Can help CJ tap into a lot of that potential he displayed against Georgia. Jerrod Johnson was CJs Elite 11 coach in High School, where CJ beat out Young for starting QB and won Elite 11 MVP
