Need more of him. I've seen all his Jurassic Park stuff but I need more of him on Hack the Movies, the Conan episode is in my top 3
Oh sweeet! I cant believe how famous this guy is. This is a good compilation. Your kong reviews are always entertaining.
I forgor about these! Thanks Tony!!
Thank you, Famous Tony. For the greatest Christmas gift here.
I think it was Rick Baker in the Kong suit in the 1976 version
Always like these compilation reviews! Gives me something to listen to :D Happy HOLIDAYS, Tony and keep up the great work!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁⛄
*King Kong:* I'm the King
*Godzilla:* I make "King" look good. In ANY context.
We really out here calling film and television legend Charles Grodin Beehoven dad lol
Thank you for the long form collection. Some of your fans are chasing toddlers for 6 hours at a clip.
Merry Christmas to everybody on Hack!!! You all rule!!!!!
John Barrys music in King Kong 1976 is amazing.
Hey it's my favourite Tony from hack the movies here with my favourite Johanna. It's great. l don't mind the movie. It's ok. Ps. I love Johannas mad drip
Great content ! Keep up the the amazing work. As an 80’s kid I grew up on the 76’ King Kong and always loved the Peter Jackson 2005 remake which takes the original and ramps it up to 11 on everything.
Jacksons Kong is kind of like a mix between '33 and '76.
Kong has a type.
Yeah bring pops on
No not a Road house remake… Attack of the Killer Tomatoes needs an updated version
Love Kong Skull 💀 island 🏝️
So, the neighbor's VHS copy of the 1976 Kon which had a porn after it - was actually the extended version.
WHO HAS SUMMONED ME!!!???
DAD review!
Besides when ya do Edward scissor hands this is most recent for Christmas next year ya should do best Christmas carol including Disney and other ones. Who did it best I say. Muppets did it best
Sorry but the take on Kong being "racist" hurt my brain!!!! lol 2020s politics really is the death of humanity
Peter Jackson tried to make a DISNEY version of Kong and I don't like it. Kong is not scary and he shouldn't be laughing or sliding on ice like a wuss plus he just looks like a bigger regular boring gorilla. The 76 KING KONG is much more scary with thos big fangs and he walks like a hybrid human. That guy is terrifying and the power when he knocks the gate down is awesome. His entrance when the trees start to shake is chilling. If the Peter Jackson Kong was real and coming my way I would just be like "they better kill that giant ape!" BUT if the 76 Kong was real and coming my way I would be like "AHHHHH its a monster, its a monster I don't think we can kill that BEAST!! Run as fast as you can, this thing is AHHH!" Plus the Peter Jackson cgi ape looks really really FAKE. The 76 Kong was REAL.
It wasn't CGI. It was all motion captured by the brilliant Andy Serkis
The gorilla was cgi over that duh!!@@kdusel1991
You do realize that Kong is supposed to be sympathetic in all King Kong movies, right?
It worked in the 76 version better because when she yells "Don't kill him!" I get all choked up BUT I realize they should kill him because he was killing innocent people BUT for some strange reason I want him to live. NOW thats a good KONG movie. In the Peter Jackson version I feel nothing when he dies because I know hes CGI and a joke!@@carsonsmith7314
@carsonsmith7314
Kong in 2005 is way too sympathetic though. It's overly done.
In 1933 and 1976 it wasn't force fed us. Kong does bad things in those versions but we still feel sorry for him. In 2005 Kong is too soft and he is reactive instead of proactive.
For the record, the effects work in "King Kong Lives" DOES look a lot better in the original scope format than in that awful VHS master you watched. It was released onto DVD once and that scope version was markedly better looking. I watched the DVD a few days ago and good god, the VHS clips you cut to look like absolute shit. Here is the end battle in scope format and you can see how much better the movie really looks:

The writers of the movie claimed that it's a spoof and not meant to be taken seriously, but the film plays everything so dead straight that doesn't even sound right. But it's what they say.
Kong walks differently in "Lives" than in '76 because Rick Baker got no say in how Kong was portrayed and he was told to walk like a man the whole movie. Peter Elliot, who plays Kong in this film, was a renounced ape mime and he was only going to play Kong the way a real ape moves.
Despite your objections, Tony, Kong is absolutely meant to be a hero in this film. For whatever reasons, Dino De Laurentiis got it stuck in his head that Americans thought Kong was a heroic character (I don't know, either). And the poster and the trailer for the film announce, "America's biggest hero is back!" No, the villain of the film is clearly meant to be John Ashton (who, yes, was in "Beverly Hills Cop").
The movie's not an hour and 30 minutes, either. It's an hour forty-five.
And Sony DID attempt to make a sequel to the 1998 Godzilla. It, of course, didn't get off the ground, but they had scripts commissioned for it. The monster's opponent in one of the scripts I read was, I kid you not, named "Queen Bitch."
Do you want me to play a fake game
No review of the original film?
We might do it on Castzilla vs. The Pod Monster one day.
@@HackTheMovies King Kong deserves a Hack the Movies ep. It has influenced cinema for 90 years. Yeah, it's outside the comfort zone....but think of the costume possibilities for you & your co-hosts.
@@Jay828__"Outside the comfort zone" is usually shorthand for "I won't watch anything in black and white or made before I was born!"
1976 will always be my favourite
Can't watch you two. Makes me sad. Have to watch other episodes
Tony keeps advertising a podcast, but he hasn't made an episode in over a year. I hope his co-host didn't reject his advances and he canceled the podcast. That sounds like something a guy who makes a 3 hour video showing all the times he got made fun of would do.
Hahahhaa ours has finally come back from hiatus! Been doing new episodes since September!
Peter Jackson was forced by the studios to make three movies, due to the fact that New Line only had exclusive financial rights to the first film. So in order for everyone to make more cheddar, a third movie was tacked on and padding aplenty ensued. Plus poor Jackson had like two minutes prep time before production started. That being said, King Kong was too damn long.
Don't think is racist look it this way if you are offering a sacrifice to a god in a culture that is homogeneous no distinct features from each other wouldn't you try to make you choice for sacrifice more special more distinct
No..... you didn't get it..... She was saying Kong is racist because he killed all of the previous native sacrifices but only falls in love with and spares the white one........
@@phillyvoodoo it was a speculation why they decorate their native
But the racist comment was about Kong...... listen again she asked what happened to the previous sacrifices and asked if Kong specifically was racist
@phillyvoodoo
Simply because she was different, which piqued Kong's curiosity. As a white blond woman she was a total anomaly. It needn't be racist. Just a departure from the norm. The norm there was black woman after black woman.
@@lyndoncmp5751 I agree with you...... I never said Kong was racist, I was just explaining why Johanna asked " is Kong racist?", and that was even in jest
Im uncomfortable watching this man talk to this woman....
For the first hour anyway
Dude is the most Normy trying to be suave iv ever seen... this is gross
skull island is the only one as good as original
jackson is the weakest
The original then 1976. Skull Island is mediocre and forgettable. No heart to it, and one dimensional characters.
@@lyndoncmp5751
heart doesn't exist and all characters in all movies ever are not dimensional
it's a movie not a human
@@tsartomato
There are indeed movies with heart. Skull Island is empty nonsense.
@@lyndoncmp5751 i saw more than 10000 movies. "Hearts" are in your head
@@tsartomato
You obviously watch mediocre movies. Ones that play like computer games. Certain movies bring a variety of emotions to lots of people.
