All of this is magic ✨ 💛
"History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes." DAMN
whoh...
If History doesn't repeat itself why do continue to have so many WARS including 2 World Wars ... and the Third might be close
@Genna Tuelz why is it though? what might seem bland or just downright "easy and cheesy" for someone, might be surprisingly deep or "magical" for someone else.
sometimes we say things just cuz they sound pretty or we sound smart saying it, but once in an exotically colored moon, they mean it.
but meh, i'm just another flamer in a random youtube comment :)
@Genna Tuelz that seems a bit too technical imo, you used those sentences ( in a quite good argument if i may say) but thats it, you didnt mean anything else by them other than to quipback, my point is that if a message is conveyed with enough belief from any party, and finds a receptor that resonates with it, then it's great.
taken out in the world, both your sentences can find people that will find a deeper meaning in them.
it's like that meme: an author describes the curtains as blue cuz they were blue, and a modern naturalist reader or whatever will dig too deep, "ah he had a depression, he has PTSD from that priest in his hometown and he conveys it via the blue color since it's sad ans matte"
i dunno if i said what i meant but yeah
@Genna Tuelz we're hitting levels of altruism that shouldn't even be possible
yeah empathy and sympathy and all kinds of pathies (especially crabby ones) are cool, but we ultimately only care about what spikes our adrenalin and serotonin secretions in one way or another
also i dunno if you're turning into a wisdom machine or the sarcasm is just overflowing naturally at this point
Idk why but i only find good songs at night
I only find good songs when I have to study and it distracts me :'( but it feels gooood
@@Beckis336 omg saaame but worth it

what about the middle verse
Haruno? Hareno? Minato? Horobi?
What's the meaning of each of these words?
@@mendelzmendel9491 Fairly easy:
Haru (spring) no (Part.-Gen)
Hare (beautiful/clear weather) no (Part.-Gen)
Minato (haven or dock)
Horobi (perishes/decayes)
So to make it short:
"When springs clear weather decays at the haven"
To be fair, that´s a pretty rough translation. If you´d make it grammatically correct it´d be "springs clear weathers haven decays", but as this piece takes a lot of inspiration from japanese customs, it´s fairly obvious what they were intending the content of those 4 words to be.

This is so moving! I personally know a Japanese man whose family and him were taken and put in one of these “camps”. He wrote a book about it. His name is Edward T. Miyakawa. Book name: Tule Lake. Sadly, he is in a long-term facility suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
First Japanese-American novel to portray the passionate, desperate struggle for justice and freedom from within the confines of America's concentration camps by those who refused to cooperate with the internment of 120,000 of their fellow Americans.
TheRakuman great! Thank you for giving the book’s name!🙏

Finally, a good youtube recommendation
la verdad que si, amigo.
It is surprising how terrible the recommendation algorithm has been for me recently. Glad this came along to buck the trend.

I attempted to fill in all the lyrics that seem to be missing from the websites:
Listened to it multiple times and all his live performances of it.
[Parts in brackets is what I heard in other perfomances]
This is kind of hard because in a couple of his performances he forgot his own lyrics and swapped words around.

@@NoraNekoNikki we'll never know until he posts something official on it. I went through every single performance I could find, and it was hard because every performance were different words in the same area that is contested. The only reason I'm doubting your version is /not/ because I posted a version, it's because "be the wave" is about the only part of your version that kind of makes sense with this rendition of the song.
@@GCblastercadet you can believe what you want but I literally asked him on his Instagram and he replied. I can send you a pic. I don’t really care, but it did come straight from him so it is the proper version.

Shed light on the mistakes of the past. Only then can we truly learn to soar. Otherwise, we risk drowning in our own darkness.

I hope this album will be recognized as one of the greatest albums of this year if not ever really. Made me cry but still feel joyful and warm.

How can your day go wrong after that?
[edit] thanks for the likes people!
You do more brush strokes than normal while brushing your teeth, you take a minute longer to tie your shoes so you can watch a video on your phone, you let your car run a little longer before leaving your house, allowing you to make it to the 4 way stop just in time for the mother of 3 to get distracted by her kids arguing in the back seat and drop her coffee causing her to run the stop sign and hit you... and then you dont wake up.

A visual majesty very fitting to a cinematic track. Love this!
This video is gorgeous. One of my absolute favorites from omoiyari. Kishi’s made one of the most beautiful albums
"Grave of the Fireflies" feels... ❤💔❤💔❤
Thank you Rick and Morty for introducing me to such an incredible artist! What an unlikely Avenue to discover so much incredible music
If it werent for the god awful season 5 (which at least got better for the final 3 episodes) I would have never learned of The Ballad of Mr Steak, which is kinda the most fun jam song ever. So thank you RnM for introducing me to Mr Ishibashi
Rick and morty has such an amazing soundtrack, for real. Chaos Chaos, Blonde Redhead and Kishi Bashi are all artists I never would have listened to if not for that show.
this not broke my heart, but made a beautiful flame of love from it. bless this ray of sunshine's music
Finishing up our unit on the Japanese Internment today with my 7th graders. After seeing Kishi last night and hear him speak about this video/his movie, found this video and just shared it with them. We were all really moved - to tears for me. They loved the imagery and how much work went in to it. It was a lovely way to finish our learning. Thank you.
¿Dónde estabas todo este tiempo?❤
Imagine a choir reimagining this... Heaven
This has been my favourite song for 3 years and I’m now just seeing this and let me say… WOW! I had no idea it had this message too!
I can't believe he went to my highschool 30 years ago.

Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.

The animation is beautiful.
This turned me inside out. I was meditating on this piece with my eyes closed. It is so beautiful and heartfelt. When I watched it fully, I was in tears. Thank you so much.
Wonderful music. Sharing it everywhere now. Thanks for the joy!

Another beautiful violin ballad by Mr. Steal Yo Girl Kishi Bashi! I love it! Thanks for all you do :)
This is so evocative, haunting, and soulful. One can't help but feel a "tsunami" of overwhelming emotions. Thank you for sharing this powerful video.
Wow. Such powerful imagery mixed with raw emotion.
This song just healed my soul
I’m so glad kishi bashi has stayed true to himself ❤️. I saw him 6 years ago and he was amazing in concert! This album is beautiful 😊
Such a powerful work of art!
I'm happy to hear the violin again. So goooddd!!! Can't wait to see you in MLPS in October!
such a talented musician and lovely artwork!
Just like usual. I get a super random suggestion, and it's finally gave me something new I like.
love this song! respect to you guys from Georgia (the country)
love the picture book artstyle.
Another great piece from Kishi Bashi
Kishi bashi, your music is just perfect...
Very beautiful and peaceful, makes me strongly think of the late Fleet Foxes.
man I juts love you so much
This album is a masterpiece
Speechless. I love it.
My family drove past Manzanar last week on our way to hike Mt. Whitney. It was because of this exact video that the real thing was immediately so shockingly recognizable to me! Especially prominent is the still standing guard tower and marked on maps, the graveyard. I couldn’t help but shed a tear for the people who had been brought there involuntarily some 80 years before 😥
So sad
Wonderful... Beautiful...
soooo amazing!!
I am in love with this song. It’s gorgeous 😍
Esto es una joya, que lastima que Kishi no tenga más reconocimiento.
Es puro arte!!
The music is something special. And so is the animation. Wow
Thanks for recommending this to me, CZcams!
one of the most lovely songs ever written
sweet kishi!
this album is just truly sunshine for everyday, my favorite songs are probably marigolds, angeline and annie, the closer. this one is too just, beautiful! and this animation is phenomenal, love how the sunflowers sprouted like that!

In an age where I seldomly feel joy in my life, it is a nice solace that I can put this song on once in a while and escape the bullshit of today’s world
Sublime and melancolic, made me cry
I just came across this band today watching a show, "Atypical". This song is giving me frisson the first time through, and that is RARE for me.
Well its finally time for me to start listen to actually good music like this

i've been coming back to this for the past couple of mornings now.... no idea why
I don't know why but from the beginning of the song you can feel it's just perfect. Almost makes me feel like selling my soul just to get to live in one of his songs
Couldn't have said it better myself, you just know it is incredible from the first note.
Last time I listened was 2013 with Bright Whites, then Manchester and Atticus in the desert...now this...Kishi Bashi is like a fine wine
I initially came here after hearing Antichrist to you in Rick and Morty and I am so glad I did.. your music touches my soul and calms me down.. keep up the amazing work.. you and your violin can literally change the world❤️
