The first time I saw this cartoon, I laughed to hard, I could't breathe. It still leaves me breathless. Tex Avery was out of his mind.
Jajajajajjajajajajjajaja. Tex avery era un campeón je
Same situation dude
5:55 best part 😳
Same with me. This is probably one of my favorite cartoon shorts by Tex Avery BY FAR
OMG! I remember this!! I used to watch this on VHS as a kid, growing up in the mid and late 00s! I haven't seen this in like forever! I still have it on VHS. Now I'm 20 wishing I was 5 again! Memories!
Same!
Same lmao I'm 19 wishing I was 5 as well
Me too, I remember getting this VHS from Albertson’s in Fort Worth, It also had the one with the two dogs that are in the Funhouse with the magician rabbit that kinda looks like bugs bunny, It also had a little lulu cartoon when she’s on the golf course
I have it on VHS, too, but mine is from the 80s. It’s cool that it was made for that many years.
Same! Do you remember what the VHS was called? I had a collection of old cartoons on VHS. Hoping that I’ll be able to find it next time I visit my grandparents lol
I’ve been searching for this one for 25 years, I watched as a child, then found it on an obscure titled vcr tape that my children enjoyed! They’ll be happy I found it again!
Me too! I had an old vhs tape when I was a little kid and it had this and the one with the potato police and all the talking vegetables.
Tex Avery was the KING of the visual gag.........
I remember having this on a VHS cartoon collection as a kid in the 90s.
wow what a cute cartoon, i sure am glad there are no creepy videos or analog horror series that the cartoon is now attached to
THE MACABRE EXPERIMENT

“OH GOLLY! AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! ahhh *gasp* aaaah....”
RIP PHONE
5:42 Seventy-two years later, the sentiment hasn’t changed.
Holy moley, I had this cartoon on VHS when I was little. I forgot it even existed 'til now. Looking at it again, it's full of amazing animation and sequences. The bit where Speedy examines the remains of his nose is especially funny!
Warren JB it's a Hiliarous classic👻
I had a vhs with this and the cartoon talking vegetables/ potato police. Hadn't seen them since I was probably 5!
I love this classic brings back memories.
I love the old classic cartoons, I have the collection from Avery, his cartoons are brilliant in many ways, especially the timing in the scenes, and of course the crazy bizarre twists.
I just blew a candle out & made me think of this cartoon from when I was little so I had to see if I could find it.
The phone part cracked me up as child and still does🤣🤣🤣
Seventy-two years later, the sentiment with unexpected phone calls hasn’t changed a bit.
@how you doing 🙂 by Londyn I did that too lol 😆
My mom had this on VHS when she was little and my grandparents still had the tape. I watched it all the time as a kid lol
All time favorite episode. Love Tex Avery cartoons ❤
OMG that little dance he does at the beginning!!!😂😂😂😂.
.... and the expression on his face 😂😂
5:40 Tex Avery. There is no substitute.
Damn straight
Genius comedy. These still destroy me! :)
Damn that’s funny
Timeless comedy. That sentiment remains the same 72 years later.
Back when cartoons were funny and good,if only I was alive at that time, thank you for posting

Same here, I would watch these on Boomerang and just die laughing. These cartoons are pure gold.
I'm almost 20 and I remember watching this on VHS as a kid. Thanks for the nostalgia CZcams recommendations
Wow. I can remember watching this 30 years ago or so! What a trip down memory lane!
Classic cartoons has always got a different respects throughout the world. Evergreen legends.
A most absolutely, totally and without a doubt magnificently classical and timeless cartoon comedy.
Takes me back to the fun days. These cartoons were way before my time but, always on syndication. Sure do miss them.
Thinking about the 2008 days makes me talk about mgm cartoons used to be on boomerang back then, lets all be 16 forever
Been watching these since the 60s. Back when Saturday morning was the only time they were on.
The music is so key to the scenes...made with love and care.
My favorite gag from “Doggone Tired” is 4:05-4:27 because that footage was later reused for the 2010’s Cartoon Network Studios PowerPuff Girls episode aired on April 22, 2018: “A Slight Hiccup”.
1:55 When the dog tries to immediately go to sleep is the funniest part to me. I always think of that whenever anyone says, "You'd better get some sleep".
I just love that dance the dog does at 1:00
I’m not gonna lie, the way Ted Avery draws and animate animals like his singing owls are just so irresistibly adorable.🥰
1:59 That's how I imagine myself sleeping on Christmas Eve.
5:33 I love how MGM used the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shocked eyes.
The Screwball Manic I call it McKimson’s style of shocking eyes.

6:44-6:50 is me every Monday morning when I have to get up for work LOL!
+DarlingNikki2 lol...I can relate too :)
DarlingNikki2 That was me for over 20 years, haha.
School was 99% of all that.
Tex Avery is definitely my childhood hero.
(FEB-26-1908) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEX!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P
My favorite part is the choking of the phone operator.....LMAO! TOO FUNNY
4:52 poor speedy didn’t realize that
Man that light bulb scene is still classic lol.
For me, it will forever be the phone scene. Lmao
I've been looking for this short for AGES! I just couldn't for the life of me remember the title! Thanks so much man!
That bunny is the cutest thing ever lol
And Speedy?
4:21
Tom's scream
*Y O W*
4:45, Smack Sound From Tom & Jerry.
Yeah, it gets used a lot in Tex Avery cartoons.
“You has plenty of sleep.”
Dog: yeah-NOPE.
I would strangle that phone too... 😴😡😵
5:41 The sassy accent, the moaning (at the choking part 😳💀), and the rest of the genius jokes, Tex is amazing!
1:00 I do the same dance on Friday when i get paid
Me too
Speedy looks like Droopy when he dances.
It's strange how the owner slept though all that noise
Maybe Speedy's owner is a heavy sleeper.
Barbituates.
Out Cold
He had a serious hangover.😄
Special earplugs?
When ever I can’t sleep this feels very relatable!
Memories of the 60,70,80, and current. The cartoons I grew up with is Awesome and Laughable 😃👍
My dog gets excited like that at 1:04, when we have visitors.
4:37 I make this sound and do this to my wife to annoy her all the time. I'm so happy I found this so she could finally know where the heck it came from. She still hates it though. 🤣🤣🤣
Remember watching these in the early seventies on Saturday mornings.
Avery’s cartoons were some of my favorites
The phone getting choked tho....😂
Tex Avery does a lot of "And remember;
you won't catch that rabbit unless you get lots of sleep"
Make a noise, yell, anything, and I'll come out shootin'"
IF I HEAR ONE MORE PEEP OUT OF YOU, OUT YOU GO!"
When he strangles the phone receiver I lose it, every time!
Lmfao at the dog dancing hahahaha his face is hilarious
lol
jdspreest g
Best part ever!
jdspreest
Love that dog
Strangles the phone...... Brilliant 😁 😁
Oh golly! AAHHHHHH!📞🤣
I remember watching this as a kid on a VHS. thing that VHS suppose to be a cartoon movie but since it too short, they put this one at the end as a bonus to make it longer, but I love this even more than the real movie .
6:35 also I like how this guy gets off the bed and wakes up energetic
If only I was that energetic every day.🙂
I always lmao on that scene every time 😂
That sounds like me when Con Day arrives for a convention I spent planning for attending since last year
This cartoon aged like the finest wine🤩🤣
The dance!!! The dance!!! 🤣🤣🤣
It doesn't matter the age; it aways be hilarious😆
I loved this video. Watched on vhs in the 90s
A éstos sí los llamo los grandes clásicos 😀
That is one smart rabbit.
It's a shame Speedy The Dog wasn't a recurring character. His "speedy" (sorry for the bad pun) movements are so funny to watch.
I had this, & many other old cartoons on tape when I was very small. I was so young, that I couldn't read the titles. I remember the cartoons so vividly that thankfully, just being able to describe them has led me to find out what they are called. Thank you for uploading this!
to this day the strangling the phone always has me cracking up
It’s a sentiment that hasn’t changed over seventy-two years.
Watching cartoons with the love of my life .....half a world away.......love you James....
Oh! Golly AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
5:55
LOL
You can tell they were made mostly for adults. Lol i absolutely love Tex cartoons
He fell down the stairs and then fell up the stairs 😂. Tex Avery is the best.
I know it's just a cartoon, but I kind of felt sorry for that poor dog.
I'm a dog lover so that's just me. Still a very funny cartoon.
Why are you sorry for Speedy?
durece100 because he is
5:56 When I get the damn telephone automated system.
Would you believe this cartoon came out 72 years ago?
Oh, golly! (Screaming And Panting)
Speedy the dog acts just like my dog Molly at the beginning of the cartoon. She's pretty energetic when it comes to squirrels, rabbits, etc.
الله يالدنيا ذكرني يوم كان يعرض الصباح على القناة الاولى السعودية تقريبا عام 1994
5:55 I used to see this, when I was a Baby! ☹☹☹☹☹😢😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
How did the dog owner not wake up to any of this?
sound sleeper probably.
A deep sleeper.
He probably wears their only pair of earplugs.
Because cartoon that's way
Tex Avery is a legend and he is a legit classic. Saw so many of these cartoons as a kid. I'll have to review Tex Avery on my channel soon! What part did you guys like the most? I always liked the end where they were sleeping together after being up all night.
go get em' boy go get em!
The part where the dog dances to point out the rabbit hole lmao his face hahahahaha
His face reminds me of Droopy on that part lol.
I like to ventriloquist cat that's my favorite classic from Tex Avery!
Actually Walt Disney is a legend
Tex A. The Best for ever
the Macabre experiment
Awww man i'm crying with laughter 😂😂😂😂😂
With all that noise at night, you notice it didn't wake up the dog owner.
I remember this one from my childhood. Oh man. I don't think I have seen it since the late 80s.
Timeless classic cartoons!!
Love Tex Avery!💕🙌

O melhor desenho animado do mundo!!
Tex Avery made the best cartoons
Hehe, I wouldn't exactly call these cartoons for children. The situations are adult enough, and the slapstick strong enough that anyone of any age can enjoy them. I enjoyed them as a kid, and still at 35 years old.
I'M 50 and still love them.
These are not for kids. They were premovie shorts in theatres.
I would say not for "todays children" I enjoyed them when I was little and I turned out fine!
A lot of these loony toons and other cartoons had a lot of hidden adult jokes and messages in them that kids never understood until they where a lot older. And I do understand what you mean about what you said.
Times changed stop making them seem profuse adult content you liked it as a kid so that says something
