All fighters are drained a few days before weigh ins. I.wish fighters would fight at their natural weight. If we moved weigh ins to the day of the fight no fighter would.drain so low.
K Dub not true. It use to be that way in the old days and they were forced to change it because fighters were showing up dehydrated to the scale and then packing on as much weight as possible in the 8+ hours they had before the fight. It got so bad they decided to make it a good 30 hours before the fight the way it is now. The only other option would be to make the weigh-in right before the fight but that's not a good ideo because not all fighters are at the specific weight's classes. Everyone comes in different sizes and shapes. Trust me, this is the only way it can be done. Best thing for Tank to do is move from 130lb to 135lb ASAP
Abel Has Risen Why should tank move up to 135 though? Obviously fighters drain themselves to a disgusting level 24 hours before mortal combat with another trained killer. If fighters fought at their natural weights they wouldn't have to drain themselves and put their health on the line. Same day weigh ins would force fighters to fight closer to their natural weight or be forced to fight severely dehydrated. All fighters should probably be fighting 10-15 pounds higher than they are.
K Dub hey man if he believes in his skills then he should move up instead of draining his body. Floyd moved through 130-135-140-147-154. Pacquiao moved through 118-122-126-130-135-140-147- 154. Mickey Garcia moved from 126-130 and is now currently the 135&140 champion. All great fighters move through weight classes that's what makes top P4P fighters. Duh. I just explained to you why same day weigh-ins aren't reasonable. Not everyone is the same weight! For example if a fighter naturally weighed 150lb how could they weigh in at 147lb or 154lb on minutes notice? Another example, if a fighter was naturally 164lb how could he make 160lb or 168lb on an hour's notice?
Abel Has Risen First of all Manny P. Started his career at flyweight which is 108 pounds not Bantumweight which is 115- 118. Secondly I don't mean a fighter shouldn't drain a little weight. If a fighter weighs 164 naturally he could fight at 154 without any real health concerns. Most fighters fight 30 pounds less than what they walk around at and they have to eat barely anything for the last week of their training camp.and then the last day before weigh in they drain another 7-10 pounds of water weight out of their system to make weight. Then 24 hours later they fight 12 hard rounds. That's terrible for the human body/brain. Barely any food for a week, draining 10 more pounds of water weight and then fighting. That's terrible. Fighters should weight in on the same day that way they would choose a weight class closer to their natural weight. Nowadays they use the 24 hours between weight ins and the fight to get healthy enough to fight. That's ridiculous.
