Without Safeguards, Pressure Vessels Can Be Deadly

  • Improperly installed or modified pressure vessels have led to a number of serious chemical accidents. Eleven states still don't require adherence to the ASME pressure vessel code. All states and localities should adopt this code and related boiler standards; lives will be saved as a result. That's the CSB chairman's safety message for Monday, November 9, 2009.

    I bet there are load more accidents like this wating to happen. And the cause will be someone cutting corners. Great video

    Because "they" (whoever "they" are) believe that saving a few dollars (because that's what it actually comes down to per incident) is more important than it is to save human lives and health... It's often argued that these types of incidents occur so infrequently that that is why they can justify NOT adhering to these particular safety regulations.
