  • This original and inventive work has rightly become a favorite in the concert repertoire, both in Haydn's time and today. The symphony is composed for Johann Peter Toast, a violinist in the Haydn Orchestra at the Esterház court.
The last movement of the Symphony, rondo, which was arranged for the Zagreb soloists by Sreten Krstić, is full of folklore overtones of the Hungarian-Croatian-Austrian environment.
