For those who look for just a quick and easy way to create new fields like me: The Landscape/Painting Tool can paint Fields, too. They don't remove gras while you paint, so it can be a bit tricky to see where you paint, but it works and creates valid fields. (To make it easier, just mow the Gras on the spot where you want the new field. Then it's easier to see where to paint.)
But still thanks to you Farmer Cop. It was your guide that makes me aware of the painting tool at all.
You can only paint new fields IF the modder or map maker put ut in which is a feature most maps do not have, so its nice and works sometimes :)
@@FarmerCop yes that's sadly true, didn't knew that when I made the original comment.
In that case, though, there is a mod for a plow with a very large working width that you can download
@@benfordrin6978I draw the outline with plow tell the AI to fill while I paint the straight borders I just wish the paint tool had drag and drop style so we could paint the correct sized square or rectangle

Appreciate the landscaping tip - I also like the field shape to be nice and neat and it can be tricky to get a uniform shape with those angled ploughs!
Now I can just carve out the general shape and neaten it up afterwards

Currently on no mans land plowing a field. Holy cow its daunting. Im extremely OCD and I absolutely hate plowing. It drives me nuts. Thanks for the tips with the landscaping tool

OH THANK YOU SO MUCH! I just bought the game and I been getting so worked up because I slightly messes up making a field. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to delete the field portions I wanted.

Does landscaping also delete fields (as in terrain smoothing etc)?
Only reason I ask, is I've had issues before in fs19, where my seed drill fails to contact the ground in places. So I used the smoothing tool, to take out the dips and bumps. But it deleted the map's pre-defined field, forcing me to recreate as a player made field.
This caused a problem for me, as my seed drills that didn't require cultivating, would create a field thus extending any custom fields if I go over the edges. But on pre-defined fields, there were boundaries in place, that prevented this behaviour. Only fix, was to reinstall fs19, and start over from scratch, since uninstalling all mods just enable create fields on everything, and couldn't be switched off (Yeah... Not using that mod again).
I'm sure this glitch won't happen on fs22, but would be nice to have a safety net.
Besides, trying to perfectly recreate those fields after, is a chore.
Anywho, thanks for the content, I'm so hyped for release. Got my copy paid for and ready in my steam library, can't wait for that install button to appear.

"Field not found" I keep getting this on a field that I created and plowed myself. Does AI not do custom made fields that I created?
So i painted over some bushes with grass so i wouldnt have to look at the bushes but have grass to grow and cut does painted grass grow because it seems like it doesnt grow in my game. Thx for the vids
Painted grass doesnt grow, you paint the grass color down then paint the actual grass over top of that
Some of the forestry mulchers can make fields it super slow but if all your doing is combining fields and you already own one of them why not save a little cash
The mulching tool also allows you to create fields

@@turtlehermitgmg forestry mulchers let's you create fields..that's what I created my fields with I didn't know how to get the plow to create a field so I said screw it and looked on CZcams and came across this video ..but yes you can absolutely create a field with the forestry mulchers forsure!!
what about the number of the filed for example you delete a whole field and you want remove the number of the field is it possible ?

Is it possible measure new created field size? If I connect 3 fields for example.
Not that I am aware of, there may be a mod out there that does it but im not aware of one
I created field this way but did dirt edge. Does it have to be grass edge for AI to recognise the new field. Because when I hire worker he keeps going past the edge.
It should be fine with a dirt edge
@@FarmerCop Thank you. I am having problems with AI not recognising fields though. Say for example split the field in half, the AI just keeps plowing through even though I have put a dirt or grass strip down the middle. And before you ask yes the allow new field is off.

I think it may confuse AI workers too unfortunately as they now won’t work on the crop side of the field.
Notice the more angles on the textures , better than 19
Would be nice to see a video showing all the angles, for ploughing, drilling, potatoes etc. but yea, does look better
Most annoying thing is getting to close to unowned properties *such as city roads* and being unable to repaint/correct any field errors.
So then it's just fucked
i got a problem, im trying to cut the ends off a feild with grass to make room so the harvester dont hit a wall while harvesting conola inbetteeen grass verges, but Plow is going straight over the grass and messing it up!
To stop the plow from doing that make sure you have the plow set to limit to fields otherwise the worker will keep going to where the edge used to be, hope this helps!

I dropped a cow pasture on one of my existing fields, however, I wanted to continue to farm the rest of the field. When I try to put a work on the field the game says no field to be found. Does this sound right? Have you guys experienced this?
i know its late reply an you may have figured it out but yes i know what your talking about, it has also happened to me and when i buy new fields as well it will say no field found. once i hired a worker with a plow to re-plow the field with create new fields off, just have worker plow field an try hiring worker to do other jobs after should fix it. i tried getting worker to fertilize couldn't find field then tried rock picker it also didn't find field so i tried plow an it worked then i tried fert/rock picking again after and it worked perfect. hope that works an helps i was super confused buying new fields an it saying there wasn't a field after just buying it lol

Propably not
As far as what is growing and their fertilizer states yes (almost the same as FS19)

I dont know how to open the "help" menu in the upper left hand corner and it's driving me crazy. That's the whole thing I've been looking for. But I did learn from you that I need to use a plow to create new farmland. Pays off to read descriptions I guess. Thank You man. I feel the "normal" difficulty just kinda drops ya into the game. EDIT TO SAY I found the help window. You have to turn it on. I'm only slightly retarded
They said in some of their previews that you could mow over the small bushes that you used to need to paint over to get rid of. Have you tested that yet? That always drove me nuts
Yes you can use a mulcher I believe it is to remove bushes :)
How to un-create ? :) In FS 19 we had a roller for that
If i remember there is a roller in FS22 but if jot just paint over the field
