    handling biz immediately with the liability disclosure, much respect. no goofy, shocking, dramatic, suspenseful, overdone, exaggerated, loud, music filled intro. much more respect!

    I like to watch a few tire changing videos before I take my tires to get changed. 😀

    Take a utility knife and cut the sidewall all the way around on both sides. If you stay about an inch from the wheel they cut like butter. The center tread portion will fall off the wheel. Then i use plastic constuction shims you can pick up anywhere tapping the sharper part of the shim between the outside wheel lip and tire bead. I continue adding shims tapping them in behind the last one. Usually the second or third shim breaks the bead loose very easily adding windex as i go. Once broken they literally fall off the rim. I just did a 180/55 and used 8 tie wraps cinched up as i squeezed the beads together with my hand and the tire literally fell on the rim. The 120/70 front took slightly more effort needing to push the tire on but still very easy. I had never cut sidewalls before but i wanted to avoid damaging my vintage unobtainium spun aluminum wheel by not beating, prying or anything that could damage it and it worked perfect. I'd been paying places to change my tires for 50 years and always had damage so i'm really pleased i can change them myself with no special tools going fwd.

    don't forget to check the valve stem's rubber body as it wears before throwing the tire on, and cleaning the wheel inner walls where the tire bead sits when needed

    Thats exactly how i looked taking out the tires 2 days ago breathing hard and sweaty except i scratched the crap out my rims i was using the spoons off amazon that you showed took me about 3 hours to do them but it was my first time ever doing this by myself i popped the bead with a shovel up against the edge of the lip and jump on the shovel made it easier

    not to mention, keeping your palms and fingers clear of the tire/wheel as you're popping the bead, else pray you have it in you to deflate while in pain before rushing to someone in emergency

    Nice demonstration of replacing a motorcycle tire 👌 (doesn’t look easy , since you got to fight and man handle it into place , and try ur best not to get hurt ), going to give it a go tho’ , once I’m ready to invest in a better set of tire changing tools , kinda afraid of the simple hand tools knicking , scratching , or dropping those tools on a surface it wasn’t intended for, idk maybe I’ll give it a shot on a practice motorcycle wheel and tire , before I actually try it on one of my own bikes 🤷🏻‍♂️✅anyhow thx 🙏 for Sharing

    Brother set them out in the sun next time before you change them, makes the rubber so much more pliable and easier to manipulate! Awesome tutorial!

      Yes, they’ll be in the sun before attempting the next install 😎

    If you use some ratchet clamps on the tire to squash it together at the beginning
    The tyre will go in the concave section of the rim
    And make it really easy to fit
    It sometimes makes it possible to fit them with your hands instead of levers
    I have fit really difficult electric scooter tyres and tight bicycle tyres with my bare hands using this method
    Have fun😃

    Thank you for sharing this video and getting straight to the point.I like how you did not edit out the struggle of getting the tire off. Like you, I purchased the Amazon tire spoon kit and just purchased the Motion Pro tire removal kit. The advice I can share that I learned from another CZcams video, is to set your tires out in the sun or heat up with a hairdryer.

    Best lube then rim before you start, helps the tyre slip off the wheel. Thanks for sharing 🍻🇬🇧

  • @sonyyoung1036
    @sonyyoung1036 Před 10 měsíci +1

    Tip - the tire will slip off the rim with minimal effort if you press one end of the tire bead into the valley of the rim while using the spoon on the other end to get the bead over the rim.

    Use a lot of windex when dismounting, it helps break the beads a lot. Also, before re-installing the new tire, remove the old weights off the wheel and check wheel balance without tire, it's not always the valve stem that is the heaviest spot.

    • @Nomad-Drifter
      @Nomad-Drifter Před 8 měsíci +1

      Spot on 👌🏽 I was surprised that even with a tyre pressure sensor the heaviest part wasn’t there… tried it 3 times. Mark the lowest point /heaviest then align the yellow / red dot with that. And balance both 🍻

    Wouldn't proper tire lube help with the install? I feel like water+soap will dry too fast

    • @dr.speedlemon739
      @dr.speedlemon739 Před rokem

      You want it to dry as soon as you put it on. You don’t want any additional moisture in the tire. Proper tire lube is just soapy water.

    I do not know what it is, some videos make it seem ridiculously easy to fit a new tire on to the rim, and some make it seem like a bit of a challenge. I am about to change front and rear tires on my track bike in two days and i am kind of hoping it will be an easy task. very good video by the way, it isn't cut to mkae it seem like a tire change is a 5 minute thing

      Having the tires out in the sun, or making sure they are a bit warm before you start the job, it’ll make the job a lot easier

    • @patrickspapens5497
      @patrickspapens5497 Před rokem +1

      @@motorcyclemaintenancechann2131 I'll be changing them in the morning, so if the sun isn't out yet I've read that sticking a hairdryer inside of the tire for a few minutes also is a good substitute to heat them up a bit. Hopefully all goes well!

    It would've been much easier if you had removed the brake rotor. It pops out if you wiggle it a bit.

    NEVER EVER remove the back side like he did. One slip of that bar and you will lose your front teeth. Keep the bars as far away from your face as possible.He has the right idea just take some more precautions so you don't knock your teeth out. And use some liquid soap on the bead. But remember the slicker the tools the easier it is to slip out and bust up your face.
