- Did you know that Kung Fu Panda isn't just an entertaining movie about a panda who becomes a martial arts master? It also has a powerful message about parenting styles and their impact on children. In this short video, we explore how Tai Lung, Tigress, and Po represent three different types of children and how their parents' approaches shape their lives. From the "Golden Boy" who feels immense pressure to fulfill expectations to the "Wildcard" who struggles with traditional subjects, Kung Fu Panda's message is clear: parents should nurture their children with love and care, allowing them to find their own unique path in life.
Tai lung: oldest child
Po: youngest child
Tigris: middle child
Man i fit all the three definition đ
Im the oldest
(Treated nicely in my childhood before i had siblings like tai lung)
Than became that kid that got compared.
(I was compared to my cousin who has won many medals, competition,in various stuff from drawing to writing to sports đ)
Then
Currently as i have 3 younger siblings im
Treated as trash.
The only thing im shit at is mathematics đ
In asian parents it's reversed because the old child always bullied
I agree with this. đ. It fits the stereotype. Kinda.
Nonono
Po should be the middle

Asian parents: "I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that".
I'm Asian and this says everything, I'm always treated like the odd one out and it's actually very sad, I didn't notice that in the movieđ
nah bro this comment is just sad. its not even funny anymore its just really sad đ
y'all can see that massages?
Asian parents : of that ain't doctor I ain't seen it
But I'm sure not all Asian parents were like that, at least, not my parents.

Tigress - The child Shifu wanted
Po - The child Shifu was given
Bro was still thinking of Tai Lung when he was teaching Tigress.
@@OverSteam ik, Iâm not saying he wanted Tigress, Iâm saying he wanted a student like Tigress. Tai Lungâs rage was inevitable because Shifu thought he could control everything and pressure his son into something he didnât even realize he was doing.
@JUST AWESOME Right, but he was given by Oogway. If it wasnât for Oogway Shifu wouldâve never believed and trained Po. I love how Po is vastly unique than the students Shifu is used to training, so yeah one could say Po is the child Shifu needed because Shifu opened his spectrum on teaching and Kung Fu.
tai lung and Tigress should be reversed imo
â @@justawesome275 yeah! Something about this comment didnât sit right with me. And thatâs it! Itâs the child shifu needed

Kai wanted to get revenge on Oogway for when he carried Oogway for three days in harsh weather and on a snowbound mountain, and Oogway stood against him when he wanted all the power for himself, and defeated him, sending him into Spirit Realm
@King Cobra Kai had nothing against pandas. Shen did
Lord Shen became ITACHI UCHIHA
Tai lung wanted revenge on oogway because tai lung was the "golden child" but was rejected because master oogway saw "darkness" inside him
I don't like that for the 3rd movie they just added a new villian out of the blue it just didn't feel as speical as the other movies 1 and 2 are amazing shove stopped at number 2

Asian parenting??? I think itâs more like parenting in general
Yeah pretty much
@@kr4kk1n perfectionist type parents?

@@kr4kk1n oh yeah
U r saying this cus u ain't asian
I donât think this is specifically Asian parenting, since parents of any race and origin can treat their kids like absolute crap
Itâs more common in Asia societies, but I get what you are saying
itâs literally called kung fu panda my guy
â@@RetroDark2008Disagree. Just because a kid is disciplined and parents have authority over them doesn't make them bad parents. Westerners are destroying their youth by spoiling them because their kids think that the world owes them everything because that's how their parents treated them.
@@artgenix8052 ââ ââ Yes and itâs in English with American accents, western humor, and a western target audience. Obviously the movieâs plot and setting is rooted in Asian culture/history, but to say the familial/parenting ideals depicted in the film are solely representative of people of an Asian (specifically Chinese) heritage is ridiculous and borderline racist. The movie is clearly not a committed exploration of Chinese culture and customs, so to arbitrarily pick out that one specific aspect and decide that the film must be intending to create an accurate depiction of and/or statement about Chinese child-rearing traditions is completely illogical. Itâs an animated movie aimed at American children (or families in general), so why make a theme of the movie thatâs so overarching and significant simultaneously inaccessible to its target audience? And if it WAS their intention to make such a (harshly critical) commentary about a specific culture, then wouldnât they have made it a lot more obvious? Typically, the âmoral of the storyâ in kidsâ books/movies isnât exactly subtle. It makes a lot more sense for this to be a blanket statement about parenting in general.
how tf is it racist?? đđđ
Ain't no way any parent is gonna walk away from Kung Fu Panda with that message đđ
Well tbf neither is anyone else unless someone says it but i get that its a joke
Lord Shen was the spoilt child who complained about his parents not loving him even though they did đ
Sorry to say that, you've completely missed Lord Shen's character. Lord Shen was not spoiled but an achiever who was misguided. In the movie it was shown from an early age Shen was ingenious and tried to prove him the best so that his parents could be proud of him. That's why he massacred every panda from the village who might have the slightest chance to defeat him in the future. After that he proudly came to their parents and demanded the love he desired for so long as in his mind being the best was all his parents wanted. But his parents saw darkness in him and abandoned him instead of understanding him. But what Shen thought that parents abandoned him cause he wasn't strong enough. So, what he did? Gathered the wolves and regained his kingdom after his arrival. Only a true fan can realize the saddness lies beneath after he deliberately throws away the throne of his father. He even confronted Soothsayer that his parents wronged him. I am not sure it's because they abandoned him from the country or they being harsh to him from very childhood that made him who he was then. Only thing can be said, he was a misguided and abandoned child which made him like that and wanted to prove his parents that they were wrong about him.

"BUT PEACH, CANNOT DEFEAT TAI LUNG"
"maybe it can....if you are willing to guide it, to nurture it, to believe in it"
-Shifu and Oogway
Oogway's message makes me thinking something...
"you can't grown into something againts your own path... you can grown into something what you really are in your path.."
The animators of the movie: letâs make these characters all have different talents with no message at all.
This man: ASIAN PARENTING
No movie is ever made without a message in mind. Maybe this isn't directly adresses at Asian parenting, but the way he described these characters and the way it plays off for them is exactly the way they are represented in the movie and the motivations for their characters
Well the movie message was
1)One often meets his destiny on the way he takes to avoid it
2)there are no accidents
3) For sometime to be special you just needs to believe it's special (there are no secret ingredients).
Basically, anything that came out of Oogway's mouth is a message
The most important message was about the Illusion Of Control.
It also applies to parenting.
Also don't underestimate pandas
Iâll do you one better lol.
*Dont f^ck with pandas.* đŒ đŻđż
In my AP psychology class, there are four different ways of parental forms: authoritarian, permissive, authoritative and uninvolved.
*Authoritarian* parents are those who are very tough on their children, not allowing much failure and punishing everything harshly. These kids grow up not knowing how to properly monitor themselves, since their parents were the ones who decided what was wrong and right.
*Permissive* parents are careless and donât really care if their kids are doing bad, as long as theyâre seen by their kids in a good light. These kids grow up spoiled and have trouble understanding that the real world isnât âI want it so itâs mine.â
*Authoritative* parents are the balance of the first two, approving good behavior and punishing bad behavior, usually teaching with reasoning and understanding. These kids grow up the best.
*Uninvolved* parents either didnât really include themselves in their kids lives, either by simply not spending time with them, or going out for milk and never coming back.
I actually just know this kinds of type right now. Judging from my experience with my parents, i guess my parents are more of a authoritative type.
thatâs deep. Tysm for sharing that i never knew
Also about Po, Shifu was an excellent âparentâ trainer by assessing his unique motivation (food) and using it to teach and motivate him.

â@@Idkchangethislater True
Shifu applied the Montessori method with Po.
Bro really cooked
The Kung Fo Panda was actually based off of three things in order
1. Body
2. Mind
3. Spirit
The first is based on physical training.
Second is based on mental/emotional side of things and moving on.
Third is self-explained, he gets in touch with his spiritual side of things(and his village gets in touch with the spirit things too).
Lord Shen doesn't feel like a child presentative. He felt more like a friend who only value you when you stand in the same level as him. Have you ever had a friend who always had to 1up you whenever you have something good happened in your life? Or someone that smiles when you achieve something but then makes bitter remarks about it? Or someone that makes comments like "Why did he have this and I don't?"
That's what Shen Long feels like.
Basically the oldest, middle and youngest child
This made me realize that Kung Fu Panda is a whole lot deeper than I thought it was
Everyone can agree, Kaiâs theme song slaps. đ«

as an Asian kid, I have feel like Tai Lung was so similar to me
I was raised similar to Tai Lung and I am kinda thankful to them for that. Of course I never liked when living with them but as I grow older I kinda understand it and appreciate everything they have done for me.
And all these years I was thinking it was about winning over oneself, damn it man wasted
Po is the lucky one. He has 2 dads who are always believe in, and courage him no matter what choice he chooses

Animators: yeah we might think that too
As a Asian American I can happily say I will continue the tradition of trauma, stress and comparing my children to others.

None of this is correct, you can't judge them based off of their personality and design.
