    Fred K is amazing! As for incredible box jumps made for Tik Tok, cool, but glory is decided on the track, not on the box. Nice piece.

    Love the inclusion of some classic basement Bugenhagen kettlebell swings. Golden tidbit also included 😅

    Great video. As a recommendation I’d list wrestling. As a trainer I found this video educational.

    Y’all need to do S&C of Ryan crouser the world record shotput thrower, would live to see what y’all think about him

    He is lifting minimal weights because he does not want to get sore or to become big. Big muscles in sprinting will slow you down. Sprinting is all about tendon flex and strength. All modern sprinters are thin. De grasse 155 pounds, lyles 170 pounds, coleman 165 pounds, kerley 190 pounds

    you need to react to tony holler, brian kula or other guys who have their focus on speed and sprinting for almost every sport!!

    Very interested in the future supertotal program. It is definitely my favorite method of training. When about is that going to come out?

      He was the best 400m sprinter in the world a couple of years ago while still looking like this. I doubt he became that good and got that physique all from sprinting and jumping.

    Sometimes an athlete gets stronger but his main performance suffers. I think Fred is the example.

    • @skootskeet
      @skootskeet Před 3 měsíci

      I think yohan Blake is a better example as of late; Fred is still a recent champ

    I'm a distance runner. I was struck by Fred Kerley's weedy calf training. Two leg, off a ramp with no weights. I got rid of a nagging calf injury based on full ROM (on a step), one leg, with a final set of 40% bodyweight, at the moment. Are calves just not that important for sprinting?

    • @Bregstick
      @Bregstick Před 3 měsíci

      Definitely important, but they (and the achilles tendon) mostly act as springs for which elastic forces are applied into the ground to spring you forward.

    • @joalvarado8506
      @joalvarado8506 Před 3 měsíci

      Bromell injured his Achilles and has no calves. Calf training would’ve helped him.

    • @Amanonhere
      @Amanonhere Před 3 měsíci

      They certainly are important for sprinting, but he may just be blessed genetically so that his track work and plyos give him enough calf/ ankle development without needing to do work in the gym for it. I’m like you when do distance running I have to do a ton of calf work to avoid injury, but I know guys who can go pound out 70+ miles a week without getting hurt with basically zero strength work. Some people are just built different.

    When I see this, it makes sense why he got slower now.
    This weight lifting looks more like the average football SSC/GPP training. Not good for speed😢

    A question. What do you think is hardest to do using the same weight and barbell, lunges or bulgarian splitsquats?

    • @joesayseph
      @joesayseph Před 3 měsíci +1

      IMO lunges because once you get past two plates it’s very inconvenient to walk around with but you’re really locked in for split squats

    • @travisoutlaw9511
      @travisoutlaw9511 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@joesayseph I will agree with you on the inconvenience part. As far as targeting the muscle, the Bulgarian split squat destroys my legs almost like nothing else. I have always been able to do lunges with at least some weight. I had to do Bulgarian split squats with my body weight for a while lol. I recommend doing both, especially as an athlete. Play around with doing one before the other, with and without weights
      Great question to the original post. Respect ✌️

    • @UgglemannenFTW
      @UgglemannenFTW Před 3 měsíci

      @@travisoutlaw9511 for me personally I feel the bulgarian splitsquats is easier to load heavier weight than the lunges.
      For example I found lunges with 80 kg harder to do than 100 kg bulgarians.
      I just noticed atleast at the gym I go to I never see people do lunges anymore only bulgarian splitsquats.
