This is a Sims 2 lets play episode where I played the game to see how it really stands nowadays.
Honestly I think there are good points and bad points about sims 2 vs sims 4 but I really hope to explore The Sims 2 more in the future. So if you have any ideas for Sims 2 lets plays or ideas to try let me know down below!

With the right setup and a few mods for the graphics and to update the UI etc, this game is actually better than The Sims 4. (There are a few walkthroughs online that tell you how to optimise the setup for modern PCs.) It has better gameplay by miles and the fact that Sims actually remember things was revolutionary.

The loading times is honestly the only deal breaker for me.
You know, back in the day, we knew exactly what each expansion was going to be and the information on how to play it was on the internet before we could get the disks, so we READ about how to do everything before we even got each feature. Crazy, I know. But none of us was confused when we got the game. Things worked differently back then. Games did not rely on the new-hype that only last one week, they relied on actually being good.
Well, itâs just a boomer bullshit. Now you can still find games that rely on being good. And whatâs fun about reading what to do in the expansion pack. Discovering everything is so much more enjoyable. And probably some people was confused so donât talk about everyone. The sims 4 isnât that hard and confusing, they still do some sneak peeks and you can get an idea what to do
@@Poptanic if you have to ask what is fun about reading up on features before you buy something, I'm afraid we are too different to find common ground.
Not to mention that the game comes with a LEARN HOW TO PLAY tutorial right there on the main screen đAnd there's an encyclopedia in the menu.
And I'd actually say the games used to have so many features that they weren't even all covered in the promotion and manuals, but we knew the basics.
Dunno what era you where in but I have a Strategy Guide for Sims 2.
I remember excitedly, reading through the manual several times while on my way home with the game and then while waiting for it to finish installing đ
When you load any neighbourhood for the first time (that includes the vacation locations, downtown etc) it takes an unreasonably long time to load, but after that first load, loading time is normal again
Ugh I miss the sims 2 so much. My absolute favorite sims game, no contest.
Once I tasted the original games there was no going back to Sims4.

You can delete in one go. Just hold down CTRL and drag.
Good tip! I came here to say you can delete walls by having the wall tool, holding ctrl and dragging and same with foundations. But your way is better when it's both!
Although I know this is late... Black squares underneath the Sims are due to high resolution on shadows. This is because of our advance hardware. Just have change the high shadows to medium.

Oh man... I'm dead. The Sims 2 is amazing once you learn how to play, don't feel bad about that, it's a huge game with lots and lots of stuff in it.

The Sims 4 have the best buy/build mode by miles, and some other nice improvements, but in general, the gameplay of The Sims 2 & 3 is superior. Which is sad since it been 10 years since The Sims 2. Hard to get excited for The Sims 5...
Iâm really hoping with the sims 5, EA has been listening to the community and basically does a sims 2.0 for the new generation.

I miss the sliders in The Sims 4.
I think the black squares under the sims are due to modern computers. A mod can fix it.
No you just need to change the settings on shadows to medium and that solves it âș

I always made my own towns, it was always so fun to me â„ïž Thatâs what I miss the most. I remember I was pissed when I got the sims 3 on the release day and we couldnât make our own towns. I didnât play sims 3 for a year after that day because I was so pissed đđ

You can buy cellphones in the sims 2. I think with night out? You have to go to one of the places on the public lots that sell them, then you can use that instead of a house phone. I never liked that though, I kept using house phones haha
The pack was called Nightlife, and I believe the cellphones were obtained from a kiosk in the Downtown sub-neighborhood
Yeah, I recommend 'clean ui' for updating the HUD and making the menus more readable. There's also a mod to make the resolution fit a 1920x1080 (modern) computer screen. Highly recommend, if you use NOTHING else...but there's a lot of stuff I use to make the sims more high rez, and the world textures better, and give the world skylines and a better sun and moon, etc. And *I* have a mod that gives my sims a cell phone! You can really modernize TS2 to make it so, so much better for the modern era, I promise! (Mr. Humble is the original sims creator's simself, so I've read!) There's also mods for better camera controls!

I have The Sims 2 on the EA desktop application (formerly Origin the name comes from the defunct company that EA bought and shut down) complete with the Expansion Packs because there was an event that celebrated the Anniversary of The Sims 2 with a code to get the game with the expansion packs. I like The Sims franchise when Maxis did the game and now EA returned the Maxis name to do the new Sims game. Why is there a black box underneath the Sims itâs because of the graphics issues with the shadows indoors

I've been wanting to download this game on my computer now but it will not accept the .exe file type. Anyone know how to get sims 2 on a windows 10 computer? I have the disks but they are admin blocked and I can't become an admin for some reason. Thanks!!
You can't get the last two expansions and some stuff packs, but Sims 2 seems to run a lot better on Macs (including M1 ones)

Yeah you need to get a mod to fix the HUD in Create a Sim after making it widescreen, as the game isn't designed to work in widescreen.

But the (only) time I can agree with pirating is if the game is unavailable for purchase, this way pirating the game doesn't take money from the developer's pockets so I agree with Carl, you should download it. honest.
