How do you record with host_timescale 0.5 and get a good playback? I mean, i tried to record with host_timescale 0.5 , play it back with double the speed and the result is so choppy, lag, stutterin

The amount of cheats in these speed runs is laughable. I don't know why people do this; I see a non-TAS speed run on expert as much more skillful.
what are you considering cheat on a TAS speedrun
@@cache780 In this one and many others, they clearly use aimbot and possibly wallhack, and most definitely use some kind of cheat that allows them to move the cans in such a way. Everything is scripted, the SI and common spawns, etc. Basically, everything that's supposed to happen in any given map is completely altered and customized to allow for the players to traverse the map as fast as possible, which is just silly, cause it's not even L4D, at all... All it really is in these speed runs, is a bhop map, not a L4D speed run.
@@kbxbrdr 9:33 is definitely aimbot. they don't use aimbot lmao, it's called host_timescale 0.5 and a lot of hours. the wallhack is an in-game cheat r_drawothermodels 2. To move the cans so quick, it's not hard when time is moving half speed, and if you right click after throwing a can it'll shove it further. if you want to add me on steam I'll show you some tricks if you'd like
@@kbxbrdr and as for the TAS/Scripted bit, it's just for efficiencies sake. TAS is a large part of any speedrunning community. it's just making the spawns as good as possible - they could have been like that without altering scripts, but why risk it in a Tool Assisted Speedrun?
@@cache780 That timestamp is a prime example of why I think it's aimbot. I have 3k hours, I've seen good aim. It's not about how "good" the aim is. It's how it the aim looks, and that's 100% aimbot. And it's even more obvious in the other videos. Just because it's a command, doesn't make it a non-cheat. My main gripe with this whole speed run thing is that everything's altered so much, the game's absolutely unrecognizable; If I said "I completed a l4d2 map in so and so minutes" (TAS) and then hopped into a regular game and couldn't get anywhere near that time, you know something's wrong.
