Glock232 - Everyone’s split on this, they say it gets just as hot if you put the food packets up against the FRH bag but I always put them inside the bag, habit I guess.

I haven't watched a MRE video from you in ages
If you are wondering why the MRE is cold, this is why. You have to put the entree inside of the FRH (heating element) where the water goes for maximum heat.
I remember when my dad was in the military and when he came home from deployment, we went camping and we had a couple of mres on us. The mres are really good btw.

Every other person I’ve seen do these actually put stuff inside the heating bag , which is probably why it wasn’t working so well for you
That plus he didn't make sure the water actually soaked into the heating element. Need to shake them around a bit to make sure the water soaks in. Then they work just fine.
You're right about putting things IN the bag ... he does usually does that ... maybe there are 2 kinds of heating elements?

Adding a little extra h2o to the heater sometimes does the trick 😉
It does help to shake the ration heater up after you put the water in so it soaks the entire element so it can heat up better
