Seeing the title of the hack, this hack looks WAY cooler than I had anticipated. Custom story, custom music and not just a pallette swap but a good redesign of the classic stages while still making it look like you're playing Sonic 1. Very impressive!
I like the story to this game with the cutscenes. All the bosses are creative and is nice to see every act have a boss where Act 1+2 are giant sized enemies and Act 3 being Eggman itself. The boss HP bar is a nice touch. Was surprised to hear the Sonic Spinball boss theme. We now have a polished version of the Sonic 1 (8-Bit) special stages, and I don't remember seeing blue springs in a Sonic game. I really like the Roasted Marble music. Painto did a fantastic job in this game.
Everyone else is complaining about the music, but considering the situation Sonic is in, I think the music fits. Sure it's not the best soundtrack to ever grade the Sonic hacking community but for this game, it sure puts the feeling of stress in most of the levels

Funny, I actually used to imagine what the original Sonic would be like with minibosses. It's interesting to see an old idea of mine brought to life through another's work!
Agreed, the Hack itself is interesting to watch, with different bosses included, I really enjoyed watching this video, but the music was completely off the mark. Especially the first levels. It sounded like the original music being played alongside a 5 year old playing drums for the first time.
I feel like this would've been a perfect hack to include either Blaze or Silver... Ya know? Because Blaze kinda is a fire elemental and Silver comes from a desolate future where practically everything already is on fire?
Clownpiece The entry that was submitted to the SHC 2015 at that time had an issue with the CaterKillers, you had to avoid destroying them or else the game would glitch off. That was certainly interesting to watch, but obviously not fun to play.
The first three minibosses might need clearer visual indicators as to when they can't be attacked. Spikes, or energy fields, or something. A really good hack other than that, though.

I think of adding something like the Metal Sonic's gold shield thingie he uses during the Sonic CD race for minibosses and red & green arrows in the main boss battle to indicate when he'll enter with fireball shield and when in the destroyable shield. Very impressive custom bosses, cool cutscenes, plus a 16 bit version of the SMS bonus stage. The constant flame effect, though, just makes me see red. :P
I have to say everything is great, the music,the old spin dash from Sonic CD,that boost also from Sonic CD, new sprites, the old life sound from Sonic CD,intro story and mini bosses. The person really put a lot of effort into this and I respect it
Kind of a 1 trick pony, every level is fire themed, but I like it for its style regardless. not bad. Plus bosses every level it seems. new bonus stages. Perhaps more than just fire themes would be nice, but the wrecked level designs is kind of nice. thumbs up.

Hey an idea for you Painto, How about for Burned hill zone, maybe you can add some bridges that are normal with fire in the middle, and when the player is on the bridge, it collapses.
BHZ and RMZ both are remixes of the original songs, FYZ is Crisis City Classic from sonic generations. Invincibility is a attempt at a remixed version of the original (I don't find it that great though) Mini Boss music is Sonic Spinball boss Boss music is from a game called "Balloon Rescue VGA" and it's simply called "rock" Speed shoes are from Sonic Adventure 1
+LuigiHero Oh, wow. I'm actually the guy who made Balloon Rescue VGA along with the song. I honestly don't even have a copy of the game anymore nor do I even remember when I released it. XD I later reworked the song into a more electronic tune and released it.
I love that this uses the bad future themes. Tbh, I think what surprised me the most was that I expected Bad Future Spring Yard, and instead it was Classic Crisis City. I'm not complaining, I just wasn't expecting it.
The Fusion emulator has a Log AVI file option in it. If they use that emulator, probably that's what they used. It later needs to be edited in some software tho, otherwise wierd graphical glitches ay appear when the vid is uploaded onto YT.

We have finished Burning Hill Zone and it's unlikely to be added. But I may consider making something like this in my maybe future hacks.
