Knowing this isn't final but bro, hell is gonna be depths ganks allat for true bankai. THE PROGRESSION IS GONNA BE HELL. In Deepwoken they made up for the dry ahh grinding by making it quicker but in type it takes days to progress.

I’d say I’m an above average player with my record being like 200 - 80 rn and I feel like this would still be hard. It makes sense cause true bankai is broken but they gotta think about the overall player base. 10 wipes in mode is wild considering how long the progression is.

The reason deepwoken has permadeath is because if you die you can easily redo trial and get power 20. If I got wiped in type soul I would need 14 hogyokus and a true for true vizard and shunko back and I would have to somehow roll kyoka again? You just can’t have permadeath in a long progression rng based game

you start with 3-4 lives and everytime you get gripped you lose one, and you have to grip another player to get it back
it would make more sense than just expecting the player to get 10 grips in a row without dying ONCE

I mean, as long as its like, only a area that isnt needed for other parts of the game outside of true bankai, i dont think theres an issue with wiping. However, if it were to be anywhere and everywhere, thats just beyond crazy and so not good for the games health at all.

Imagine getting jumped while tryna get true Bankai and they grip u so u lose your WHOLE SLOT.
Progression for SRs already takes so long, plus fighting Bankai can be absolute hell. All that and then you have to pray to God you fight players significantly worse than you or don’t get jumped by 5 trolls or else you get wiped. I definitely think true bankai should be hard to get, so tons of people aren’t just running around with it, but this game just isn’t for permadeath. The information isn’t confirmed yet, so there’s no need to complain, but it is a scary thought.

We don't know what a full wipe would entail, you may have your element, weapon and cosmetics but that's at the best possible chance, and to restart an entire prog is mind numbingly boring in type soul. For what reward? Five minutes of raid bossing in a game where you'll use it to flex in gladiator pit against people who don't lose anything from dying? It's ridicoulous since Type Soul isnt built around permadeath. In deepwoken you can achieve any build you want, with an arguable more enjoyable prog. as well as unique playstyles or more challenging ways that can reward you for it. You're also gurantee'd to get the oaths or weapons you want besides the legendary items. It's entire playstyle was built with wiping in mind. For type soul to do this is beyond ridiculous. Expensive RNG elements with most people relying on codes and doing boss raids to get your hog frags and other items needed to progress takes so much longer and really not enjoyable. I enjoy Type Soul's combat but this Hell update with wiping sounds like an awful idea.

I do kinda like the whole pd aspect cuz true Bankai is designed to be a special mode that only the great of the greats can get but it’s a tad bit ode especially with type soul’s progression

Kinda doubt this’ll be how you get true bankai. But if it is I bet this will be the quicker method but being way more risky because of it being so fast. If this is true everyone is gonna get segunda cuz it’s gonna be equal to true bankai and you don’t gotta worry about wiping plus this is not gonna feel like the old e soul grind I would have expected it to kill one of the three bosses and get a drop from it that would let you get true bankai but if it is like that it’s gonna be like old type soul bankai where not everyone has it but bankai/volt/res everyone could get it if they grinded for it but if this is true then on people who have brain dead builds op bankais and a yank squad could get.

I love Permadeath in Deepwoken, but that game is built around Permadeath because it’s a Rouge Like.
However, this game has PAID DEV ITEMS. So no one wants to Permadeath because it means the loss of money.
Especially when deepwoken’s progression is 10x less tedious and faster than type soul, along with you gaining permanent (although small) benefits through the echoes system on the next life, along with being able to store items and pass them down
