I’m from a province in the Philippines and we don’t have any bookstores in here! I have to travel at least 2 hours to get to the nearest bookstore in a near city. Buying a Kindle is the best decision I’ve made. It’s so convenient to want to read a book and just purchase it on the internet instead of driving 2 hours just to be disappointed that they’re not in the bookstore anyway.

I've been s Kindle reader since May 2011 and love it. I read so much more than I did. And if I'm close to finishing one book, I don't have to worry about what other book to bring along with me
8 gigabytes holds 6000 ebooks. I never pay for ebooks, because of all the freebies available, as well as using various book review sites, I also use the library to download ebooks for free. Because I upgraded to a new 2021 kindle paperwhite, I was able to get a kindle unlimited free trial for 4 months. I don't usually pay for kindle unlimited either. I'll sign up for the free trial, cancel it, and later on sign up for another trial. Once I had a 3 month free trial and after that ended, they gave me another 3 months for free.
Top tip - if you have one with the adverts you can pay £10 to have them turned off. However I went to the customer service live chat and told them my son (I don't have kids) was bought it by his Nan and she didn't know about the adverts. I told them the adverts weren't age appropriate and they removed the adverts for free 😁 £10 in my pocket is £10 in my pocket and will pay for Kindle Unlimited for a month.

I got mine 3 months ago and I love it! Best thing I bought with my money. I think the best benefit for me is that it's so easy to read now while lying down so instead of scrolling social media before going to sleep you can just read because now you can. Other benefits for me is that kindle books are cheaper, books not available in my country are easily available there, you can literally carry hundreds of books in your bag, you can see the time while you're reading, how many minutes are left on a chapter, adjust the font and font size and all your highlighted passages are automatically compiled into one place. Not to mention the dictionary so you can look up words you don't know immediately by just tapping. It's really different from reading from a tablet or phone. I can read for hours and it won't strain my eyes and you won't get distracted by anything while reading because there's no other apps on it. I think it's unfair to compare it to physical books because you can't really expect the same features on a book lol duh! It just works best for me because I don't have a lot of space in my room to store books but it really depends on the person because it's obviously not as satisfying as seeing your collection pile up.

I agree with both of you. I got mine a couple months ago for the same reason and I am so happy with my purchase. The only downside is that it doesn't support books in Arabic so I wish they could change that since I live in a country where Arabic books are difficult to obtain.
I used to be an avid reader. I could put a book down for a week or two and get straight back into the story. I lost this ability and ended up not being able to get through a book. I have been suffering with bad anxiety recently and to stop my mind racing I picked up a book and found that reading meant I couldn't think of anything other than the story. Even watching TV I found I was getting anxious. I bought a brand new, sealed Kindle Paperwhite 11th Gen with the waterproof case from Facebook market place - I paid £70 for both (£155 to buy off Amazon) and I've been blown away. It's definitely a game changer.
The pop holder is brilliant idea! I would like one but it wouldn't work with my waterproof cover 🫤 I don't take my Kindle out of the house so damage is unlikely but I like the fact the screen is covered and protected from scratches.

I liked going to the library every few weeks to get a book to read but because of my eyesight I had to get large print versions. Airplane mode disables your WiFi on the device. It saves your battery and also if you borrow a book from the library and you’re not finish reading it, if you have airplane mode on you can read the book past the due date. I think you can usually find airplane mode where there is WiFi settings. Hope this helps.

Does putting a pop socket on the actual back of it risk ruining it. How do you take it off without scratching or denying the kindle? I put a thick clear case on it and then a pop socket but it’s a bit heavier to hold.
I don’t personally have a case on my kindle. I see no scratches or anything! Probably thanks to my book sleeve :) and since the pop socket is just like a sticker I don’t see how it could ruin the kindle!

What irritates me about my Kindle paperwhite is that it is made for a right handed people and I am left-handed. I find it awkward to use being left-handed and that leaves me with the only option to buy the expensive version which I cannot afford which is a kindle oasis. So I struggle with what I have because I will not spend the money. At least not yet.

You don’t need kindle unlimited, but it’s a subscription that gives you access to the books in their library! If you don’t want kindle unlimited, you will need to purchase each book you want to read

So this review didn't actually show her turning the pages, which is what I wanted to see -- on to another review that might show that. I honestly love my 2015 kindle & am bummed that I can no longer add books to it, even via USB. I LIKE being able to turn the pages by pressing that little bar on the side. I barely have to move my thumb, to do that.

if you don't have KU, you will have to purchase the books. typically around $4.99/book. KU is a better deal IMO bc it is $9.99/month and you can read any book available on KU. (reading 3 books/month makes you beat the price to break even)
if I remember correctly, the ads only pops up when you turn the kindle off and in the main menu, and even then you need to scroll down a bit for it. It will never interrupt your reading experience

Unlimited is essentially like a library. You pay a monthly fee and u get access to all books on KU. If u don’t have KU, u just pay for each book individually. And u can keep a book in KU for however long u want but there’s a max u can have in ur library at once so u have to return it eventually

Amazon has definitely upped the game with the kind of Mediatek chipset it uses in the new device. Love the wireless charging support as well.

Have you actually held one? I'm not left-handed but sometimes I read while doing other things with my right hand, and I've never had a problem holding it or turning pages.

You don’t need kindle unlimited, but it’s a subscription that gives you access to the books in their library! If you don’t want kindle unlimited, you will need to purchase each book you want to read
Are you able to highlight and make notes on it? I use the KU app and I know your able to highlight text.

Does the kindle say how long you’ve read for in a day already?
So this review didn't actually show her turning the pages, which is what I wanted to see -- on to another review that might show that. I honestly love my 2015 kindle & am bummed that I can no longer add books to it, even via USB. I LIKE being able to turn the pages by pressing that little bar on the side. I barely have to move my thumb, to do that.

If it’s on kindle unlimited I will read it on my kindle! If it isn’t I almost always buy the paperback!

pop sockets usually don't leave any marks it's the same as putting it on a phone

if you don't have KU, you will have to purchase the books. typically around $4.99/book. KU is a better deal IMO bc it is $9.99/month and you can read any book available on KU. (reading 3 books/month makes you beat the price to break even)

Do the adds only pop up when the book is “resting” or do they pop up as your reading?
if I remember correctly, the ads only pops up when you turn the kindle off and in the main menu, and even then you need to scroll down a bit for it. It will never interrupt your reading experience

Unlimited is essentially like a library. You pay a monthly fee and u get access to all books on KU. If u don’t have KU, u just pay for each book individually. And u can keep a book in KU for however long u want but there’s a max u can have in ur library at once so u have to return it eventually

Average price is $4.99! But sooooo many amazing romances are on kindle unlimited! U keep the books until u get about 10 in ur library and then u return one when u hit ur limit! & I’m not sure how much a book takes up but there’s so much space on a kindle
