    Good review. One thing I do appreciate about cottage brand quilts like UGQ and EE is that the temp rating is usually the comfort rating. Plus, they are a bit more customizable. I highly recommend spending a bit more $ and get the right one 👍🏼 I understand though that this is a good quick ship option for someone who doesn’t want to design their own.

      Thanks! Cottage brands are better without question. The Thermarest Vesper is a great option though. I would definitely choose my Hammock Gear quilt over the Thermarest but this review is about non cottage quilt 😁

    I appreciate that you told me you couldn’t recommend any gear you hadn’t used for years.

    Thank you for a thorough review of the Thermarest Vesper quilt . I agree with all your comments on the quilt . It does a good job even to 20 degrees . At that point I use my Alpaca wool liner to keep me warm and when I don’t need the liner I use it as a pillow . I use just as you described . Good luck to you on all your hikes .

      Thanks for your comment. Sounds like you have some experience with this product yourself! Nothin beats wool 😁

    Great to see a review after more than one or no use like some other CZcamsrs.

    Noob question… what’s the advantage of a quilt over a sleeping bag? Is it simply because there is less fabric so it’s lighter weight?

    • @CascadeBackcountry
      @CascadeBackcountry  Před 2 měsíci

      1. Better for warm nights
      2. More comfortable (however this could just be opinion)
      3. Lighter weight
      4. Stays in place when you toss and turn
      I might be missing some but those are the highlights

      Another benefit is that quilts tend to stay cleaner longer than bags. Something on you is less likely to gather as much as something you're on.

    I typically do not like review videos, byt your's are top-tier sir! (Probably largely because you've actually used the product several times). 😅

    Hi, excellent review. Thank you. I am 5 ft 10”.. I know the website says regular would be ok. What would you recommend? I think I’m going to buy this quilt.

      Thanks! I personally would go for the long version because it is slightly wider and obviously longer so on colder nights, you'll have more material to wrap around yourself. The tradeoff is that the long is slightly heavier. You could always order both and send back the one you like the least. It's great quilt. Have fun!

      I’m 6’1 and have the regular because the large was sold out, I’ve had it for a few years and it’s served me perfect for tents, bivi’s and hammocks.

      @builditbreakitrepeat6510 I doubt it. I think the zenbivy sheet has specific clip in spots for their quilts?
