She explained the reason why she said that she gets asked that very often coz it's a boy's club. The guy was telling her that her business seems hobby like, one that she isn't serious about - and she just asks a question, so what's the big problem?

@@Yavanna.K first of all, who even said it's a "boy's club", apart from her? Maybe people did, outside of this room. Having said that, I don't think there was anything in Ashneer's feedback that indicated that he was judging her as a woman, and not a person running a business. There was also no indication whatsoever that they were being condescending to women, especially with a woman shark on the panel (discriminatory people would stay discriminatory towards any woman, at the end of the day)
Second of all, when she asked that question, what she really expected as a response is something I still do not get. A non discriminatory sensitive person would have started to panic and an inherently discriminatory person would not have said yes on national television, and would have tried to squeeze themselves out of the situation entirely.
In my opinion, be it her emotional impulse or be it a calculated decision, that question was a mistake. And if it was a calculated decision of her asking Ashneer that to play the sympathy card, then she deserves no respect at all- as a woman and as a human being, it does not matter.
@@advaitmenon2667 Nobody has to explicitly say that businesses in India are a boy's club. Women in India find it difficult to run businesses more so than men coz India is inherently a patriarchal, regressive society. Even Anupam said that women find it difficult in this area, so what more do you need?
Furthermore, if asking questions makes the other person uncomfortable, should we stop asking questions? That's cowardly.
So, what she did might not gain respect in your eyes, and surely, that's your prerogative. I respect her coz she was daring enough to pose that question despite knowing after that she will not be to getting any offers from the men present there. As a woman and as a human being, she deserves far more respect than other cowardly idiots on this show.
