Banks is widely regarded as one of the chief architects of Brexit, having donated more than £13 million to anti-EU organisations, including UKIP, as well as having funded and directed Leave.EU, the unofficial Leave campaign in the 2016 referendum. Following the referendum, Banks wrote The Bad Boys of Brexit, a book chronicling his role in the campaign's success. Recently, his political activities have come under legal scrutiny for possible connections with Russian authorities.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

The one thing you can take away from this interview with Mr Banks is an honest and objective analysis as to WHY brexit won in 2016 from the perspective of one of the key players and judging from the nature of interview , Mr Banks was not there to be a cheerleader for political gain.
My Grandfather, in his 70s who is Pro Remain told me he remembers early division on the question of European membership well back in the 1970s and he believed it would only be a matter of time before that division makes its way to the top of the surface in British politics.
Regardless as to where you sit on the brexit debate - everyone can learn something from this interview as it reflects the reality of the modern political and societal landscape.
The minority of immature students pulling off the coughing stunt ought to think more critically.

Mr Banks is an honest and dignified gentleman, who is as entitled to his political opinions as any other... A refreshing honesty to political naivety and blind expectation, but I must draw the line at the Greta 'joke' - not a joke; no matter how you dress it up.

@Henry Hill providing practical solutions is not her objective nor her role... those within roles, positions and jobs already, are obligated to providing the solutions...one would argue that they have them already, but choose to kowtow to greed and industrialised progress, rather than the alternatives, some of which
greta suggests... a point in question.
Greta is highlighting that fact, amongst others.

  • @karendegenerous8044

The young chap asking the questions is the reason why young chaps (and chapessess) should not be voting, his lack of knowledge made him far too immature to vote, and why the age should go up. Arron was spot-on in how he explained the media and their devious destructive ways. The question asker is dangerously gullible.
But then why did he get the Brexit party being Conservative so incorrect 🤔. 74% of the Brexit voters are Labour. BBC who are dead against it a right-wing as is the Daily Mail and most British media. Just because Jeremy Corbyn was continuously on the fence until his last statement of saying that he holds his hands open to anybody from anywhere to come into Britain with no rules, and just because Boris has supported Brexit from the start, it did not make Brexit suddenly Conservative, has Arron completely forgot about Theresa May and her three years in number 10?? Brexit has always been left, and a liberal, as Nigel Farage explains himself.
The Indian women saying that Britain is one on immigration was the biggest piece of bull$hit on the whole thing, how is she that clueless? Britain is becoming a dump of $hit it because of immigration, especially with the crime figures and the terrible gormless state of the NHS. The strongly assumed French student doesn't think about the British people who have lived here via family for absolutely generations - the only set of people that he didn't think and the effect mass immigration has on us and the name of our Great British countries, he forgot he DOESN'T come first. LOA regarding Greta - I could easily say that were many millions of people who agreed with him, and not as a joke. The American woman could not see that Arron was not joking about Brexit and we have no relation to Schengen also. I've no idea how the anti-somatic question came in no was allowed, but is only 0.01% of all anti-Semitic claims in the UK go further for investigation because they are the only ones which may be valid.
