    I prefer LG V50 ThinQ. I usually like the rear cameras audio, video and stills performance on LG 'V series'.
    Unfortunately, 'LG Mobile' marketing strategies have been really bad across European countries, at least...

The result ould have been different taken by the same camera, iven. Probably, the pixel is bether better over all for point and shoot stils, but for the all axperience of the camera, video(with all the modes) , stils(with all the modes) and manuals. I bought an LG V50 ThinQ for videography and photography. (I have actual cameras for long range photography too, so I have a good range of tools.) I'm amazed at the quality of videos that the V50 can take. I shot and edited some test footage to show my nephew, and he was so impressed, he wants me to shoot some promo video for him and his peers. (He's a local rap artist and skater.) The slow motion settings have really been something to behold. And using cinematic framerates make my videos pop even more. So yeah, my V50 was a good investment. 👍🏽

    The Pixel may have produced better photo, but the LG has a vast of manual control settings that the Pixel could only dream about and that's before we even talk about manual audio control.
    So if you only shoot in Auto JPEG, the Pixel may be a worthy choice. But if you really want to take full control of the camera settings in both photos and videos, the LG is definitely the one to go.

    When it comes to resolved detail, both of them are actually equal BUT the LG v50 blows out the highlights thus covering details in too much light, it cant adjust exposures as well as the Pixel. This is where Google's superior algorithm software comes in and is part of every Pixel's outstanding camera skills. However when it comes to hardware these two phones are equal, its just that Google has the software optimization advantage. AS proof many of the macro shoots show the V50 resolving details just as well or even better than the pixel, but just falling short of Exposures in other shots. Thanks for the video Grant!

Really whoever is dealing with lg software needs to look into this and need to realize they are still lagging behind the camera department. It is still good but there are phones that are better. A Camera of Any Quality is Only as Good as the Person who Know or Don't Know how to use it. Even side by side comparisons are flawed due to light angles and filtering. Lets be real I feel the only thing the pixel has over the lg is what they selling you the "easy of use". What I mean by this is that you take a picture and it looks "nice" because its been render for you to look "nice" double edge sword & fails to come through when taking video as you can see with the washout colors and loose of detail and definition, thanks to the "nice smooth effect" it just blunders everything.
    11:25 take a look at the color black it looks washout & just look at his face and neck its looks like when you turn up way too much the "beautification" feature on a samsung. 6:10 again behind the tower you can clearly see mountains on the lg, on the pixel not so much again the "nice smooth effect" it just blunders everything.
    That is the differences lg looks "not nice" because it is untouched Raw with every detail and nothing "smooth out" you have way more room for editing any photo or video to your liking because they haven't been "pre-beautify" , definitely for a more intermediate to advance user
    its a case of "it's not the tool, it's the user" the lg was meant to be more Raw professional like a Dslr camera. not "nice" like a point and shoot camera

    LG Video has his face looking sunburned, as for the audio on the LG it was awful. The detail on the pixel is more colour accurate with better details where the LG seems to have a slightly higher contrast that just doesn't do well. Biggest issue that I found over the years as an LG 3,4 and 5 user is how slow LG is with updates... Their diabolical.. LG V50 not a bad effort but defo NOT in the top 10 best camera phones for 2019.. Pity.. They always fall just short of the bar just like Sony.. Good review thank you for sharing 👍🍀😁

    I would really wish people wouldn't use auto when doing comparison videos especially when both phones have manual controls pretty sure it's hard to guage what phones could do because auto doesn't always give you the best settings.

    • @GrantLikesTech
      @GrantLikesTech  Před 4 lety

      Pixel only has auto, so I wanted to do a like for like. Manual mode has its use cases, but most everyday scenarios are best with point and shoot. All comes down to what we each want and value from our phone cameras.
