Hugging people you don't know is jarring for alot of people. You have to read the room step back ,and respect personal space. She seems very self - unaware.

If I was having my relatives over - I could be bare foot and in ripped jeans easy and hug away. But if I'm meeting my in-laws for the first time, my future boss and his wife for the first time, the future King and Queen of England for the first time, out of respect - at the very least I'd wear shoes. And hugs are earned - not guaranteed, especially first hugs. And I'd work my butt off to earn Catherine's hugs - she's so awesome, I'd walk through fire BAREFOOT for her. And when she gave me a real spontaneous loving hug, the jaws of life wouldn't be able to pry me away.

If Meghan realized that British people find hugs from strangers jarring after trying to hug Harry's sister-in-law on their first meeting, why did she she continue to foist hugs on strangers during official public functions? Meghan's hugs always looked awkward as if she herself was not a hugger but was trying to give the impression of being spontaneously warm and affectionate like Harry's mother.

I think there is a parallel between what she is doing on her podcast and what she's saying on this Netflix show. We all know that she's not using Archetypes, but stereotypes. There are a lot of people who do not hug people they meet for the first time not just Brits. That's their right and the feeling has to be respected. I don’t hug people I don’t know. I lived in England and I made friends and we started hugging briefly when we met. It didn’t go on for 20 minutes and we didn’t run up and throw our arms around each other like we hadn’t seen each other for 40 years. Never once did I feel put off
