From what it looks like to me, is that there are “shiftable” elements or types that can be assigned or combined to different Pals. There are multiple Pals that share body types and design but differ in typing.

I think at the moment is 4 player but later update they might add dedicated server to play up to 32 players
32 is basically an MMO, but 4 is already great imo
I just wish it wasn't only Xbox and PC. All I got is a Playstation lol.
I'd be surprised if it doesn't come to Playstation. It seems like it would fit well on there
