Talent, live without any help from auto tune. That’s a drummer singing lead, with harmony while carrying the time for the song. That doesn’t just happen....it takes practice, a lot of it.🎼🎶🤘😎
Probably my favorite NR song. Keagy fuckin rocks on those drums while he belts out kick ass strong vocals simultaneously. Every band member is multi-talented too. Gillis n Watson are 2 of the best modern rock guitarists imo. They both brought innovations to modern playing. Watson w his 8 finger tapping and Gillis w his whammy tricks.
+Dave Rucci I saw Night Ranger with Kiss in the 80's, they were awesome, " Sing me away " is also my Favorite. I saw them in Nashville, Tennessee in Concert. They are very talented.
Stephanie Keele Very cool! I only saw NR once a few years ago at a free downtown Orlando concert. Very good, but I would have preferred to have seen them in their prime with the original 5 member lineup. Btw, have you ever heard of the band Rubicon from the late 70's? Look it up. It was kind of the genesis of the forming of Night Ranger...
I seen this band in 1983 at a little amphitheater in Evansville Indiana. They blew me away with their talent. It sounded like I was in a studio. It's one that I will never forget for sure.
When within one band you can have a valid argument about 1. who is the best guitar player, and it's between Jeff Watson and Brad Gillis; and 2. who is the best singer, and it's between Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy, you know they have just a stupid amount of talent. It's ridiculous how good they are.
Kelly is the best singing drummer there is! If you ever get a chance to see Night Ranger live (yes, they still perform) get as close as you can to Kelly.
I have to give major kudos to Night Ranger for being able to keep it together for so many years. If you have ever been in a band you know what I mean. You had TWO lead singers (Jack and Kelly), TWO lead guitar players (Brad and Jeff) and a keyboard player (Alan) that got no press coverage or interviews or pictures in rock magazines and somehow they kept together for about 10 years. That is amazing that all these egos can peacefully co-exist.
Night Ranger was one of my first loves. I've seen well over 100 concerts, and this band hasn't been one of them. Yet. Hang in there guys. I'll get my act together, I promise.
And these my friends, are the real deal rock musicians you will find no better.The.most underrated rock band ever and that's coming strait from the damn heart..
Was there great show and great party the night before ,some farmer charged 5 stinking bucks to camp on his land there were fires everywhere and people selling every drug you could think of like a mini woodstock, ozzy closed the show with jake e lee smoken.
wish it wouldve been on the other side of the state , in my area the Detroit area, i wouldve been there , was only 14 couldnt drive to The Zoo or i wouldve :) , did see them 3 times in this area though :)
Agreed. It has this wonderful light harmony and toe tapping hooks. And ridiculous skillful playing in the bridge. Awesome tune. Sister Christian killed the band. Sorry Kelly.
On this day in 1983 {February 12th} Night Ranger performed "Sing Me Away" on the ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Eight weeks later "Sing Me Away" would enter the Billboard's Top 100 chart at position #73, and then four weeks later it would peak at #54 {for 2 weeks}, it spent nine weeks on the Top 100... And on the same episode of 'Bandstand', they also performed "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", at the time "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" was at position #46 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, two weeks later it would peak at #40 {for 3 weeks}, and it spent twelve weeks on the Top 100.. Between 1983 and 1988 the San Franciscan band had eleven Top 100 records with two reaching the Top 10; "Sister Christian" peaked at #5 {for 2 weeks} on June 3rd, 1984 and "Sentimental Street" reached #8 {for 2 weeks} on July 21st, 1985...
Omg i saw these guys in 1987. I am pretty sure that Kelly was wearing red and white striped pants but with a yellow shirt. I had such a huge crush on him back then.😊❤
to dear@ou812als5 I before this comment ou812 was Vanhalen album name? and I can not understand your comment. I Japanese twice comment to MoriKawa Japan. please. I waiting your easy comment. I'm sorry. end/
That name was used for various things before the album. I saw many live bands in the 80's that were NOT this good. Yes, some were. There is something to be said for consistency. Performance after performance after performance consistency. Every great band can have a bad night and every poor band can have a good night. To do one or the other consistently is a measure of greatness or a lack thereof. Van Halen always had howling vocals, spot on harmonies, complex percussive riffs, propulsive pace-setting bass, then there was Eddie and that guitar. To put all of that together and make is sound excellent more nights than not? That is a feat. It's like the Beatles on a rooftop. How many bands could have pulled that off that well? @@userphlglvc
Jeff Watson & Brad Gillis. Oh yeah. Maybe my favorite twin-guitar attack of all time. Easily in my Top 2 or 3 for sure. Maybe the best. Loved what these 2 guys did together. And what can you say about Jack and Kelly Keagy? Amazing singing drummer. One of my all-time favorite bands, for sure! LOVE these guys.
That fact that they can play it live without any gimmicks is a testament to the talent in the band. Kind of rushed live but that's just what happens in the moment. These guys and Bad Co. just nail the live stuff. And Cheap Trick of course. Highly recommend you see CT live if the opportunity arises.
Saw the guys live around 2011 in London. Despite being held up at the airport with passport issues, arriving late, with minimal backstage warm up, and constant sound issues, they performed spotlessly. That's professional musicianship for you.
Im a drummer and i got to sit a few feet from kelly backstage and watch him belt it out for 2 hrs....was unreal....his pipes and chops....a highlight for me...
Absolutely love this band, they are playing up in Massachusetts on the 29th, wish I could go, tickets are $93, well worth it. Kelly Keagey has a beautiful wife, Monique !
Talent, live without any help from auto tune. That’s a drummer singing lead, with harmony while carrying the time for the song. That doesn’t just happen....it takes practice, a lot of it.🎼🎶🤘😎
Calm the fuck down. This song has a click track all over it.
@@morsecode2112 ok dude. No need for nasty language.
The click track is Kelly Keagy.
@@garyrollins6776 seriously? Didn’t think they did that …..Kelly can sing his ass off….
Absolutely incredible......
Back when the competition in rock music was intense and musicians were high calibre talented and hungry....the good old days
That's no easy chore hitting, holding , and carrying notes like that while drumming....bad ass ....
Its nice to see a band that can play music and not need a lot of flash and bang to wow the audience.

+Stephanie Keele I saw that same tour :)
+Dave Rucci they have a lot of good songs...
Think mine's Four in the Morning. But this is a very, very, very, close second.
I seen this band in 1983 at a little amphitheater in Evansville Indiana. They blew me away with their talent. It sounded like I was in a studio. It's one that I will never forget for sure.
I said the same when saw them in '85 in Dothan AL. They sounded just as good live as they did on record!!
Must've been mesker! Great venue!

Kelly Keagy - best singer
Brad Gillis was with Ozzy in 1982?
The keyboard player is hardly visible
Two axmen INCREDIBLE!!!!
Saw these guys twice back in their heyday....80's....they were fun and musically talented too.....Rock on Night Ranger!!!!
Saw them a couple of weeks ago ! Still awesome !!
Saw these guys twice live. Phenomenal. Sounded great live
Saw them last night.....again. They never disappoint. Even at their current age.
Kelly is the best singing drummer there is! If you ever get a chance to see Night Ranger live (yes, they still perform) get as close as you can to Kelly.
Don Henley would like a few bars
@@derektaylor3261 More like Phil Collins
Seriously though, this guy is really good. Could maybe be better than Phil or Don, just not as successful of course.
@@emello4you the whole band isn't as successful but yeah that drummer is great
Saw these guys this past weekend in Tuscon, better than ever, they are just great performers and musicians. Very into the crowd having a great time.

I. ♥️♥️♥️ this tune. Beautiful melodies and brilliant musicianship 🎸🎵🥁🤘🏼
Ain't no word's for the drummer and singing at the same time wow. Talent
NIGHT RANGER IS AWESOME LIVE IN CONCERT!!!!
Night Ranger was one of my first loves. I've seen well over 100 concerts, and this band hasn't been one of them. Yet. Hang in there guys. I'll get my act together, I promise.
I saw them twice in the 80's. Good live band. 80's forever!
Great old Rock and Roll ...True Music...Keep Rocking Night Ranger !!# Loving it All...
In my opinion, the modern era can produce new bands 24/7, BUT, NONE of them will MATCH or SURPASS the caliber or talent of Night Ranger!
Talent during the decade when everyone was talented,at some level. Harmony is what got me.🎼🎶❤️😎
Absolutely amazing. Those were the days. Just didn’t know it then.
Such a kick ass band. Watson and BG are incredible guitar players
Man I miss the 80"s
Thus has to be one of there best ones of all time
And these my friends, are the real deal rock musicians you will find no better.The.most underrated rock band ever and that's coming strait from the damn heart..
Just think: July 1984, Kalamazoo, MI. The "American Rock Festival" featuring Ratt, Night Ranger, Accept, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, and Triumph!
That must have been awesome!
OMG, that HAD TO HAVE been an Awesome Show!!
Was there great show and great party the night before ,some farmer charged 5 stinking bucks to camp on his land there were fires everywhere and people selling every drug you could think of like a mini woodstock, ozzy closed the show with jake e lee smoken.

triumph , one very underrated band always over shadowed by the success of Fellow Canadian band RUSH,, Rik Emmett also a very Accomplished guitarist
Better live than in the studio!!!!!
Great performance, even live these guys sound great .🙏
Another great band who has two awesome singers Triumph and Night Ranger both front men and drummers have great voices.
classic ALL TIME amazing vocals and guitar solo - I'm always impressed with drummers who can hold notes like Kelly Keagy
Agree totaly. He and Gil Moore of Triumph. Both awesome drummers and singers!
@@magnuswettermark8293 also I heard the guy from The Eagles (?) was decent 😜
There was some guy from Genesis that was really good. Can't remember his name though.
Deen Castronovo is the best singing drummer. . .
I love everything about this song forever 💯😍❤🎸❤💯🎸
OMG Missing great music these days, too much of nothing good, we need this back
I thought they were bit too pop to be a real rock n roll band, but I couldn't help but listening to them day and day out. Very talented musicians
One of my all-time fave songs by them!!!! I NEED to see them again soon!!!
Agreed. It has this wonderful light harmony and toe tapping hooks. And ridiculous skillful playing in the bridge. Awesome tune. Sister Christian killed the band. Sorry Kelly.
Just can't turn this up loud enough!

Monster band! I remember their debut…so technically proficient and just rocked out as well.
Epic Guitars!!!!!!
I'm FLOORED by Brad's guitar playing in Night Ranger and Ozzy Osbourne!
One of the only bands to sound just like the album when they played live! They were incredible!!!!
Awesome song!! Awesome band! Singing and playing drums, wow!

It's always so cool to see the drummer do lead vocals!!
In their Prime - So F'n Energetic!! Love You Guys and Glad y'all are still Kickin' it!!
Love the old school way
My favorite NR song, sung by my favorite NR singer. Kelly's awesome.
well I mostly remember Gillis. and many do not know he stepped into big shoes to help Ozzy when Rhoades died. he is really good.
He's good but Watson is better
Like this song much better live over the studio version.

tttarms1970 Awesome. Love their song "Goodbye"
+Tom Hertz you cant get no better with night ranger...
My very first rock concert: 1985 - Night Ranger in Medford, Oregon. This was always one of their strongest tunes.
When I was a teenager I loved this song. It's still good.
Smokin solo by Jeff Watson
That guy is the shit. Nice dude too.

right.
Well I enjoyed Kelly songs I preferred Jack blades.
