Just to let you know , the kid that played Edwin who was one of the Dead Boy Detectives is Ty Tennant…the adopted son of David Tennant.
The other kid reminded me of a young Tennant then I saw Ty Tennant in the credits and went and checked who he was. We have a few Doctor Who actors and Who connected folks so far.
The last name was a pretty good dead giveaway, dude, there's a Doctor Who Alum in the mix, Michelle Gomez aka Missy from Doctor who, and Ty Tennant son of David Tennant who played the 10th Doctor in the series. Not a lot of Tennants in the acting business, plus i can see how he his mannerisms mimics David's as the Doctor.

I'm really looking forward to the Dead Boy Detectives series, I wasn't sure when I first heard about it but the dynamic the 2 boys have is great and i wanna see more of it

i really hope its the same cast, because these two had great chemistry, i just worry cause first doom patrol appearence in titans was a different cast, be a shame to lose these lads

All the characters in Doom Patrol have such a deep and emotional stories. I can't believe we are in the third season of Doom Patrol and still exploring their deep character traits. Love this show.
For me that's a big negative. Just get on with the wacky adventures, and cut the emotional baggage.

@@abdel-rahmansayed6384 I read the original Grant Morrison run when it was out 89 or 90, probably before you were born. Maybe I'll re-read my original copies if I have time, and find out. I'm pretty sure it didn't dwell on tedious gay love affairs,Rita not being able to control her powers, Cliff's daughter relationship, No Cyborg at all. etc. My tip; Stop making proclamations about what other people know, or do not know.

You really think that they will just make a show exactly like a comic book? Wow! I'm not saying that i like all of the characters story arcs, but it's acceptable to see them suffer because that's who they are.
They’ve announced they ordered a pilot for a Dead Boy Detective series. Would totally love to see more of them after this ep

I think Cliff is still a Robot because in the episode where he went in Jane's head, he accepted that he was "not a man" or atleast not the same man, so his robot form is now what represents him I guess
let's not forget that he had to be rinded that he was still human and had a brain that could have human ailments.
The Dead Boy Detectives were pretty fun. I enjoyed this episode a lot.

I feel like the nysic they used at the end reminds me of some of the music from one of the Disney Princess movies.
Also, "it's just vomit" "Yay" is my favourite line this season so far. As good as "think of potatoes".
Also, I'm glad that Matthew Zuk and Riley Shanahan getting their names in the opening with the rest of the cast makes me happy. Skye Roberts getting the same was a surprise but an interesting and happy one.

I know that the Sandman is in the DC comics universe, so when they mentioned Death, I wonder if they meant her? If so, incredibly cool.

Yep, "really nice" and "super fit" both sound like Gaiman's Death. Doubt we'll see her on 'Doom Patrol' though I guess she could be an "antagonist" on the Dead Boy Detectives show ?

Although Death has been race-swapped into being Black.
It doesn't matter to me since she can take many forms since she's just a concept but I'm aware a lot of people are against it.
@@internetgoat4831 I have indeed (i'm actually re-reading Sandman currently before the show airs and mentioned in another thread that, coincidentally, just a few weeks back i'd read the issue where we first meet the Dead Boy detectives).
Hadn't heard anything about casting (I avoid spoilers, even trailers usually - seen the "first look" and that's all i'll watch before the show) but like yourself, it doesn't bother me at all if Death is played by a black actor.
I love the reference to Neil Gaiman's / The Sandman death, btw the ghost boyos are getting a spin-off series
So assuming they keep Ty Tennant and the other two the Dead Boy Detectives show will be set on Earth 21 since that’s where Doom Patrol is set? If so I wonder if Sandman will be connected to them? A lot of questions but I really liked this episode especially the dynamic between Charles and Edwin.
I hope they keep Ty and Sebastian cause I’m already connected to their portrayal of Edwin and Charles

A former racecar driver robot man, an actress from the 50's who turns into a disgusting puddle of flesh, a cyborg, a woman with 64 personalities, a man formerly connected to an alien spirit entity and two ghost boy detectives, while on Charon's ferry crossing a version of the river styx, were vomited upon by a creature/woman that works for death and has a mouth like Predator as angler fish looking creatures looked on. They then celebrated that it was only vomit.
I mean... let that sink in. That is what this show is.
When the Death worker screamed at them on the boat they missed the opportunity to have Brendan Fraser scream back like in The Mummy lol.

It is possible we could have multiple dead boy detectives since they haven't confirmed these two as the two in the pilot and since they originate in Neil Gaiman's sandman comics there could be two more on Netflix when the sandman show comes out, lol.

British version of a baseball bat - rounders bat. Or for the more hardened criminal, a crowbar 🇬🇧🏴
Rounders _is_ closer to baseball but a cricket bat's actually a closer equivalent IMO, considering the prominence of the sport, the size, the cultural place it fills etc. (like in 'Shaun of the Dead' where he uses a cricket bat _exactly_ the way people in the US might use a baseball bat).
@@anonymes2884 as an English person I don’t know a single person who owns a cricket bat, but I do know a couple with rounders bats 🤷🏼 but, if we’re just talking as a weapon then I definitely think the British equivalent to a baseball bat is a crow bar lol
@@Drummer4President Hah, my experience is the exact opposite (which is maybe fitting, since i'm a Scottish person :). Almost everyone I know owns a cricket bat (even if it's one of those cheap sets with a bat, stumps and a ball bought from Asda on the way to the park and only ever used once) whereas i've never met anyone that's even held a rounders bat outside of school, nevermind owns one. Mileage varies as the Yanks say :).
(even weapon wise I disagree - especially for a public school boy - like I say, Shaun didn't grab a crowbar to fight zombies)

@@Drummer4President For a laugh I just googled "attacked with cricket bat". Came back with 2,530 results. Whereas "attacked with rounders bat" ? 2 results (both for the same article). I don't like to lightly chuck around phrases like "totally conclusive" but y'know... :-)
(in all seriousness, like I say, experience just varies. Maybe age dependent, or gender, where you live/went to school etc. I'd feel pretty happy betting cash money that _in general_ though, cricket is _way_ more widely played and cricket bats more widely owned than rounders sets. Could be wrong of course :)

The problem with Michelle Gomez is that she was so iconic as Missy that it's hard to see her as anything else.

her name is Madame Rouge, and she's one of the Doom Patrol's oldest enemies. not sure why that guy called Rita "Bindi" tho. Rouge's civilian name is Laura De Mille.

I mean she could be putting on a Scottish accent when she appears as Michelle Gomez (though i've no idea why she'd do that which is why, as mentioned, i'm at best on the fence about the suggestion at the moment).
Rita's natural accent is presumably however Gertrude Cramp originally sounded (not sure we know where she's from ? The US mid-west ?) but i'd imagine she's used that "mid-Atlantic" 40s/50s film star accent for so long that it's _become_ her "natural" accent (just like Cary Grant didn't remotely sound like he was from Bristol :).

That’s your opinion, but others may really want to watch it. I personally loved them
this show desperately needs timothy dalton, his presence is felt everywhere in these first 3 episodes. This last episode really felt more of a filler imo, felt like having them go to the afterlife was just an excuse to introduce the dead boy detective, which I wasn't really into them tbh I was honestly kinda bored for most of it. Hopefully this slow pace is due to the absence of the timothy dalton and the pandemic and not just how the rest of the season will turn out. Am I the only one that thinks this about the first 3 episodes ???

I chalk it up to season 2 being cut short tbh. Ep. 3 is where it really felt like a new season to me where as the first 2 felt like it was wrapping up season 2. I personally loved the Dead Boys Detectives and will definitely be checking out their show.
you do know Timothy Dalton was absent for a good chunk of season 1 and the show still managed to shine with it's characters and storylines. Saying "the show desperately needs Timothy Dalton" is a giant reach. If you ONLY watch this for Timothy Dalton, you need to get your priorities straight. 😬
idk i think both season 1 and 2 were mostly filler its kinda how doom patrol works, they use the filler to develop the characters and their current states
