'In the Mirror' is such a beautiful song... I'm not sure I've even heard it before (embarrassed blush). Amazing that Yanni can write it and play it with no formal music training.
Wow, i just found out that Yanni can't read music sheets and yet he remembers and plays very well all his masterpiece.... so that's what sets him apart from his fellow other well known pianists.... bravo Yanni... im speechless of your geniuses when it comes to music. Yours can be called a national artist. 🎷🎺🎻🎼🎹💗💗💗🎶🎶🎵
Then I bought 2 dvds ' Live At The Acropolis' one for me ,one for Jackie. Loving it! Jackie gave me' The Reflection of Passion AB' loving this AB. Merci Jackie. Bon Jour .
This is such a beautiful song but it always makes me cry because it was played and my nana's funeral and everytime I hear I just think of her. But nonetheless it's a great masterpiece!
He doesnt reaf music. But he has deep theoretical knowledge abt music composition. Structure, melody harmony even counterpoint is common in his music. In addtion, he has good knowldge of orchestration and arrangement, and he wrote specialist music for orcheatra guitar cello violin and flutes...
Saw Yanni in concert last year with my daughter who I got into Yanni at a young age to help expose her to REAL beautiful music and not the crap of today. Concert was absolutely fantastic! Even my gf who doesn't like this kind of slower music was shocked at how good it was. I'll probably upload some clips to my channel to. To this day she still can't go to sleep without Yanni playing in the background and she's 25 now.
I was conceived in music and my mom went into labor on stage with me. I've been a musician singer all my life and I can't read music either. People who read music can't change keys to match the singer, the singer must match the player, unless the song is written in every key...not good.
If Yanni couldn't read music back then, did he have to hire someone to create the scores for the orchestration? Did he ever learn to read music? Just curious.
"Funny Business" do play the piano? Performing in front of cameras on LIVE television adds pressure regardless of how famous you are. Yanni talks in his book about how his album "In My Time" (which is where "In the Mirror" comes from) was the hardest for him because he had to be able to carry it by himself with solo piano rather than relying on the band. For someone untrained in music, he did a phenomenal job. Watch his hands, he's not sloppy like most untrained pianists. All musicians make mistakes.
Nothing says the 90s better than Yanni.

"In the Mirror" makes me feel really sad, too, for many reasons. It's one of many of Yanni's exceptionally soulful pieces.
This was my first encounter with Yanni!
Yanni's music is always full of.. good culture and breeding.. and great to play around a stable, happy household.

He made mistakes on his own song. What a pole smoker.

Isaac Thomas Yanni grew that mustache because his 5 o’clock shadow kept leaving a rash on his boyfriends butthole.
