  • I grew up participating in 4-H and one thing I was required to do every year, was public speaking.
My parents expected me to give some sort of presentation and sew an outfit every year. They believed these two things were the most important skills I should know as I prepared for my adult years.
So when I say, that we should talk about travel differently - giving a public presentation comes to mind. As does, how mainstream media would respond to said presentation.
It can be really humbling, to realize how little control we have over how others think of us and perceive us.
But we do have control over own actions and words. We can choose to follow blindly behind the messaging that media shares:
Instagramable travels are the only valid travels
Bragging about your vacation and showing only the glamerous things is the ways to attention and fame
Travel is a YOLO or FOMO situation, etc.
Or we can be a voice of the Lord, that says that travel is a gift from Him and it teaches us more about Him. We can vocalize the value of this gift in a way that honors Him.
So let’s talk about it! 💬❗❗
