Rather than call a reference to the fret and string, call the note...
It's about time people learn the notes of the neck.
    Good information here...Thanks

Explanation is a little too general with the intervals. Im assuming there are no rules as to whether if they’re major/minor 3rd, perfect 5th, major/minor 6th

fabzy4L it will depend on the chord tones. Ie major or minor but the interval is still the same just different notes make it

Of course there are rules; this is basic major scale harmonization. The explanation is perfectly clear and not at all "too general"; that comment doesn't even make sense. Obviously, you have to know the major scale to harmonize it, so maybe you need to map out the scale. If you have never learned the scale from top to bottom of the neck, then you're trying to run before you can walk if you're trying to harmonize it. The fault isn't in the lesson; you just haven't done the work needed to grasp it.

@@Gregorypeckory thanks for attempting to explain it. Just saw this today.
Uhm, no, i’m pretty set on that. I’ve played semiprofessionally for at least 10 years. Been playing in general for 20.
I know the theory, i just don’t understand this explanation. My question wasn’t much of a question. Im not actually asking anything. I’m just not satisfied with this. Hence why I ignored it for the past 2 years, and moved on.
And i dont mean it to be an a-hole, i mean it as my very on personal opinion which is not absolute. Just mine.
Sorry it doesn’t make sense to you, i guess you and I aren’t on the same frequency either. But i thank you even if it seemed a bit passive aggressive.

Nearly three-and-a-half minutes of talk about nothing and and then some rudimentary playing, totally boring.
