This is Level 1, Laying down the roots.
It’s to teach the players the basics of the game and how it works.
Later levels will get very tricky and a bit hard, stay tuned.
BFDI: Branches is an all-new platformer game with Firey, Leafy, Coiny, and Pin! Featuring multiple characters with varied gameplay, a story mode with branching paths, a complete level editor, and an online level browser! The demo is coming this winter.

I really love the aesthetic design of the game! It feels like super mario in a sort of way and gives off a nostalgic feeling, kudos to everyone that worked on this project and you for making this possible!

@@MeesterTweesterY'know, Señor Tornado, I've had some thoughts about a similar concept for a 2D BFDI platformer. It would feature the innovative mechanic of giving characters a whip so they can lash at enemies, grab and throw objects and swing around on grapples.
@@themightygallium9509 That sounds interesting! Castlevania is fun, I also like an obscure series called Umihara Kawase which the movement is entirely based on using a grappling hook.
The game looks so good and polished! Cant wait to play it! 😍😍

Yo this game oozes with that old Flash game charm! Great level design for a first level and I'm happy to see this game using BFDI/BFDIA inspired art direction, feels like a true throwback!
My one critique is that I feel that Firey looks to play pretty floaty? Not to say that's bad but I think he could do with a bit more weight to his jumps.

OH WHAT THOSE SFX ARE SO PRETTY! I already love this, I can't wait to see future progress. This looks really enjoyable and the level has lots of variety to it, which is good, especially for a more tutorialish level! I also LOVE the Level Complete cutscene, it's so smooth. :]

Oh my god dude this looks so fucking good it literally looks like something from the switch e show or something
The soundtrack is incredible too
Some constructive criticism:
1. Need to make a back animation (when firey turns back he should be looking back)
2. Achievements (not necessarily like minecraft achievements but like things that make you happy for doing something. like squishing a goomba gives you points in mario)
3. Character Selection Screen (your probably gunna add this but make it like smash)
4. Secrets (you are also probably gonna add this but this would be cool!)
5. Leaderboards (kind of like super mario maker where you can see who has made the most levels, the most popular levels etc.)
That's about it! Hope you take some of this into consideration!

The music feels like a happy desolated island with a happy tribe that slowly erode at night as they all face the reality that everyone is alone and stranded and as they swear at their ancestors for bringing them there in the first place and slowly going insane to the point where they kill for sport including ships off the coast and oftentimes their own people.

Beefy Die Super Mario Bros. is looking great so far! Though I do think there should be a jingle that plays when you collect all 3 Win Tokens.
Everything is just perfect
I love the fact that the start of the level is a Recovery Center, implying that Firey (and other characters) died before starting the game lol.
I have a suggestion
You should a character editor like for example :
Rocky is a level 1 character he acts normal doesn’t have any special features
Then Firey is a level 5 character he can burn through wood and become shorter if there’s wind
And u should add an attack mechanism to the characters that have points like needle, pin, pencil
Hope u use these suggestions!
