A listener: First of all, my question is from Dr. David - have you seen any person who has seen himself from outside? And the Sadhguru has a question that is there any such technique, which can be found in the level of human intelligence, where you can see yourself from outside?
Such an illusion can be created
David Eagleman: It depends on what you really mean by 'looking outside yourself'. There are some experiments that we call out of the body illusion, i.e. the illusion of being out of body. Explaining the set-up of these experiments is a bit tricky and complicated task.
I can tell that this work is done by wearing a type of video goggles, in which a camera is placed behind you. Through these goggles, you can see your own body from behind. Suppose someone picks your back from behind, then you can watch it through video goggles. You will feel that scratched immediately, but you will see your body at a distance. Many people in this experiment feel clearly that they are six feet away from their body. In Europe, there is a group associated with neuroscience, which, through its experiments, put people in this confusion even when they were lying down. This technique has given these people the chance that a scanner can be used in the mind of the person being used, where they can measure and see the activities of the brain at that time, when the person being used to get out of their body Feeling. Nonetheless, we can explain the experience of each person with their nerves, but we have not yet known how both things are one and the same. Science gets slightly stuck here.
