Great video! Thanks. Well stuctured. A video tutorial about any 2D image to 3D model... then import to blender would be cool too. Could even be a midjourney 2D image to 3D.

Hi everyone. Some more info regarding this addon based on common questions I'm seeing in the comments:
- Did you make this addon? Nope, I'm simply showcasing another creator's addon. This video is not sponsored by OpenAI or the creator of the addon.
- Is the addon free? Unfortunately not, but you can use ChatGPT as a free alternative. This is a paid addon that uses the GPT4 API. You get 5$ worth of free tokens (which is a lot of tokens) to experiment with the AI. Check openai.com/pricing for more information on tokens and pricing.
- I'm getting an error, what can I do? Try to generate a new API key, as your current one might be expired. Keep in mind that you need credits on your OpenAI account to run the AI. You get a bunch of free credits when signing up. If this doesn't work, try and reinstall the addon or simply try again later, since the addon relies on GPT's servers they could be unavailable, resulting in errors when using the addon. If the problem keeps persisting, contact the creator of the addon, they provide their email on the download page (the page linked in the email after purchasing).
I'll do my best to answer all of your questions the best I can. But, since I'm not the developer, I don't have answers to everything. Again, the addon developer can be reached via email and I would advise contacting them if you're still experiencing issues.

5:38 If this would be not an experimental Addon the would be a button already like: [Tell GPT-4] witch copyes your error message and send it with a default text like "I got this error message: (error message...)". Or don't even let you being stopped by an error message because this communication happends automatically in the background. You know just the first possible thing what comes to your mind when somebody even start to make an addon like this.
Just for noobs like me :
- you'll have to pay the addon ($10+)
- you'll have to pay for each request with a token system (seems very cheap, but not free)
Such a shame.

Nice. I just started learning blender (below newbie level :) ) and now I see all the new AI invading the world. What would you suggest my roadmap? My intention of learning blender is mainly for interiors/3D models for virtual tours. So after watching this video is it possible to generate a 3D model from a 2D floor plan fed to Blender and Chat GPT does the rest? I want to optimize my learning time and $$ investment in the correct place. TIA.
Will it create more complex models like humans or animals?
I asked gpt to create 200meters x 200 meters landscape design with trees etc. + wanted him to create 3-4 two storey medieval houses. and yeah It crashed and after I deleted some conflictions the gpt only created a planar surface like a pizza sheet with 1 cylinder on it. lol It needs to develop a lot but this seems cool for basic stuff.

I wonder if I can use bpt4 to do the things in blender that I'm too stupid to do in blender.
The intro is funny. Asking GPT-4 to place cubes in a circle, is like asking a genie for a candy bar.
However a genie can change the constant of the universe, based on a wish. And in most cases, you get only three of them. Though, GPT-4 can't change the universe for you, you can keep asking it to do for you what it can, how many times you want. So, asking it to place cubes in a circle once, is not quite the same as wasting some very limited wish count given by a genie.
What a time to live, to see, to face these technologies.
A few years ago I got an imagination that what if developers create software that we can make 3D models and renders by typing some commands. Thats crazy.
Flashforge Foto 8.9" mono 4k 3d printer. I just bought one. $180. +ChatGPT+nvidiaPicasso+blender3.5±printed molds± silicone ChatGPT taught me python (kinda) and it's getting crazy. I just sit and ponder sometimes .
What would be very helpful is the ability to capture previous prompts as clear text, for edits & re-execution. Yes, we can click SHOW CODE to see the Python expression of the prompt. But I find myself wanting to just start over and re-execute my previous prompt with a few grammar tweeks. Right now, the text used for previous prompts is exposed, but cannot be copy/pasted. Minor irk, as it means simply typing the prompts out in a text editor first, then pasting them into the add on.
Just ask chatgpt to edit the script for you, to your liking
@@FiwweB00i I've tried that. But when I tell the bot to make tweeks, it sometimes re-generates another instance of the thing i'm trying to modify. Which is why i suppose i kept wanting to start over fresh. I am almost certain this boils down to a syntax issue on my part; or: how to coax out of GPT the proper phrasing to achieve my results. I'm quite green to Python, but the code seems human-readable enough. Suspect i just need to keep inspecting the SHOW CODE to parse out what i need to change/add.

People are crying so much about SkyNet, ehhr, I mean GPT :) But I'm pretty sure we can manage something interesting with it, it's like a knife, it cuts, it can make sandwiches or other undesirable outcome, it's up to the user, not the knife. Although, this time the knife might become the actual user, anyways XD

I installed it, I installed the api key, but it doesn't work. at all. I'll just have to do it by script and chat gtp 4.
Before I would purchase this I would like to know how complex the prompts can be for this. Does It only work with primitives or can it do more complex things like sculpting/modelling shapes, like for example, an apple or a window?
I don't have it myself, but it seems that gpt4 is very good at turning ideas into code. It is not, however, built for creating things. It might do well for apple or other simple/common models, but it would struggle with pairing multiple shapes together, as shown with the cubes. There are some models I've heard about that can generate 3d models anyways.
I used this command: "Create a person using no more than 300 polygons" and it gave me just an elongated cube with some extrusions. Tried other similar commands with little progress. I think it's more command-based, like "create a sphere", "turn that sphere green", "extrude the highlighted faces", etc.

Oh, and the use of the Python API is outdated. I’m getting a lot of “unrecognized” errors on functions and properties. I use the API a lot, so that’s too bad.

3:14 What I missed from this video that you tell GPT-4 that "the cubes are intercecting, please fix it." If I would be in your place when I make this video I only fix the code manually when GPT-4 will not manage to respond the error correctly. Even if the AI fails I would left it in the video to be remain unbiased.

The addon is not free. If you wan't to use GPT in Blender for free I would use ChatGPT , I have other videos detailing how to use ChatGPT with Blender.

I purchased it from the link you provided, installed the .zip on Blender, generated and pasted the API key, but now Im getting an error any time I enter a message in the GPT-4 Blender Assistant. It's a lot of file errors and one that says 'gpt-4' does not exist.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the addon. Make sure you're on the latest official version of blender. You can also try to generate a new secret API and/or reinstall the addon. You can check my pinned comment for more info on troubleshooting.
you need a paid OpenAI subscription in the first place, like ChatGPT Plus. Otherwise you don't have a valid plan to use the OpenAI API key.
Inside the Blender Add-on, you can also choose between GPT-4 (expensive plan) or GPT3.5 (inexpensive).
Alternative is to use free ChatGPT side by side with Blender, as showcased in earlier videos of Stray. Essentially lets you do the same use cases by generating Py scripts for Blender

@@pick8695 I figured it out. I had to setup payment on the OpenAI API site. Just paying for ChatGPT doesn't give you API access. API is extra... Seems extremely cheap though.

This is ridiculous, I've seen text to 3d add-ons that utilize shap-e for the same price, but gpt-4 seems much more efficient. It's amazing, and it doesn't require any extreme GPU computing power, it's coding.
So it makes simple shapes :/ was expecting a little more sadly haha

You're right. I just misspoke that part though, a few seconds before that I asked to make 80% green and 20% red.
