- #Opiliones @roachcrossing5546 #aquarimaxpets Opiliones like Vonones sayi might be the best pet arachnids, and some of the best pet invertebrates, for people who are uncomfortable with pet spiders or scorpions. Opiliones do not have venom, do not bite humans, and are easy to care for and quite possible to breed in captivity. In other words, though they have an alien appearance, they are harmless and easy pet arachnids, and may help some people conquer a fear of arachnids and other arthropods.
These captive-bred Vonones sayi are a locality from Briceville, Tennessee.
I obtained them from Kyle at www.roachcrossing.com, a great source for pet arthropods and information about pet arthropods. Thank you Kyle!
Watching this at work
Yes, Yes, panel discussion please!
I love that it was a little difficult to get the little guys on your hand, yet far more difficult to get them back off again. They're like "oh... hi there. I guess we are one creature now. NOOOOO don't seperate me! Abandonment issues! Abandonment issues!" lol
Excellent Video Rus!!! I love the HarvestMan!!!
I really enjoyed this video. I definitely would be interested in seeing a panel discussion. Harvestmen are fascinating.
Those are neat! I love learning about new critters, I'd love to learn more!
Wow these are waaay cool!
Would love a panel on these. Not enough content on these guys
They are very different! Good upload
I'd love to hear more about opiliones! Especially their communal behaviour. They're one bug I feel I truly know next to nothing about.
Weird and interesting little things. My rubber ducky’s recently had mancae! Thanks for the great care tutorial, only two months of having them following your guide
I had never seen shortlegged harvestmen until last summer! They're so cute!! 💖
I'd definitely love to watch a panel!
Thank you for making this video I am no longer afraid of daddy long legs or crainflys thanks to this video and love the looks of these friendly little aliens 😂
Very informative!
Communal?? Well that’s cool😎
Hey Rus! I keep and breed/sell vonones ornata. I would absolutely love to be a part of that video! Keep up all the great work! Love the channel, i aspire to have one like yours one day. I hope to hear from you soon! Edit: I actually mean vonones sayi. I just learned today after years of keeping that they are sayi rather than ornata. Thanks to you and kyle for this great and new information!
hey Thomas! Send me a message on Instagram, Facebook, or email…I’d be happy to involve you in the video!
They look like those spiders from lost in space.
Such cool critters. Would love to see a panel!
i would be interested in a panel discussion as well as a more acurate way of keeping 'em once you have figured it out
I'd love to see a livestream about harvestmen for sure!!
Those aren't my thing but man they're interesting. Communal animals always fascinate me.
As I'm new to isopods, I'm newer still to your channel. So what's the story with roaches? I assume someone in the family has a derision for them?
Roachss make my wife VERY uncomfortable 😁
I bought Ornatas from the same guy a while back! They recently had babies
Also, I'd like to add that I have them in a tall naturalistic enclosure, and they love to climb. I can often find them two feet above the ground, chilling on moss ropes.
I tried to get mine to breed and found out from somewhere that they eat their babies. Have you found this to be true?
If they don’t have enough live prey, that can happen
What’s your favorite place to order isopods from?
So many! I try to utilize a lot of different sources.
But if you had to pick one what would it be? Based on price, selection, customer service, etc…
This is honestly infuriating watching you feebly try to put these in the enclosure.
I like to think of it as working gently with an animal I haven’t handled before…in the interest of their safety.
