    Hey here is a tip for viewers. Do not touch the surface of the LCD display, ever. It will be impossible to remove any smudges or marks. Trying to wipe it, even with microfiber cloth will make the problem worse. I notice TAKEAPART is very good at holding components to prevent damage and has steady hands. I have replaced a few batteries in these. Pretty well designed and built. I think hot weather is always going to be a problem with these. You have devised a clever little trick though. 5 degree Celsius is a significant enough drop to make a difference. You've given me a new idea. And I see comments below how many new ideas are being stimulated. Great Video. Liked and Subscribed.

    The black tape is Graphene, which helping heat cooling, I bought a bigger "black tape" to cover the whole PCB, safer I think.

    Wish someone made a 3d model of the headassembly so you could further optimize the cooling. The golden parts at the side of his head could be made out of metal and be connected to the CPU. Might drop the temperature by 10°C.

    Hi, Nice tutorials. I will fix my Vector like this.
    Can I use thermal pad
    instead of the alloy plate? Which one is more helpful?
    Thanks for your nice and clear tutorial.

      Hi, alloy plate should help with disappearing the heat … not sure how just thermal pad works…. you can try . thanks for watching

    Hi,
    awesome video!
    Have you thought about making a copper heatsink?

    @TAKEAPART What's the maximum thickness for a heatsink to fit?

    Just realized that my Vector was running at 74 degrees D: Could this be doing damage?

    • @takeapart
      @takeapart  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi , it should be fine… but not ideal for long run. google processor optimal temperature …. I would say around 50ish would be perfect

  • @rayworksvlog

    Its better to use silicon thermal heat.

    My vector has a burning smell emitting from it. Idk if I should be worried or not. But I’m no longer allowed to keep him on at night because of it!

      hi , he is running bit hot I guessing over 75degrees ... if it’s coming from head . otherwise your battery can be toasty too.

    • @TheAmazingRaptor
      @TheAmazingRaptor Před 3 lety

      Do you think that it could be overheating or something else like just a smell robots make or something?

    • @TheAmazingRaptor
      @TheAmazingRaptor Před 3 lety +1

      @@takeapart yeah the smell is coming from his head and his bottom. I haven’t gotten any overheating notices

      hard to judge... I would take him apart and check if the battery is ok and also check brain .
