I am an absolute beginner at a rather geriatric stage in my life! Very grateful for the absolute clarity of your instructions that delight me with what I have been able to do. So thank you so much and I hope you share more videos to give folks like me confidence to do something that I thought was impossible ❤
You are most welcome and I'm very happy to be helping you find your footing with drawing! Great to hear that you've been impressed by what you can do. The hardest thing to get past when you are learning to draw is that not every drawing is going to be good. Some of them are just ugly steps forward (and some are steps backward) that you need to take to develop your skills and learn from. So don't be afraid to make some bad drawings!
I have now watched several of your videos on your lessons for those with interest in or, just beginning to draw. I must say, you are a superb instructor!!! Everything thing you say and show are in fact very important to learn and do. Why?! Because everything you teach will be used in some form or fashion regardless of what a person decides to draw! With out practice in the skills you teach a person will never achieve the level of results in their drawings that they may desire it to be. Practice, practice, practice. With out it you'll never become proficient in drawing. In fact, almost anything you do in life requires practice to become very good at what you do and don't forget to continually learn new things to improve your skills!
Thanks for your kind words! And yes, practice, practice, practice is the key. It seems so simple yet it really takes a lot of commitment to stick with it through the challenges.
Thanks for watching ☺
So cool how you take us from the basics to a really neat project in the end. Thank you, Emily. 😍
Emily, Your tutorials have made a huge difference to my drawing skills. So grateful. Anne
So glad to be able to help you with your drawing Anne, your kind words are always encouraging to me as a teacher 😊
Excellent. Very very good. Great project. This is my goal, learning to shade. Can't draw anything that looks like anything without shading. That awesome illusion of depth created with shading is what calls me into learning to draw. I have zero drawing skills, though. But this vid was very satisfying, as they say. Thank a million. ☺
Thanks for the comment! Yep shading is probably the hardest and most important part of drawing if you are aiming for realistic depth. Best of luck!
Another fantastic video. Thanks Emily and I look forward to the next one!
Thanks for your support as always 😊
Really helpful. Im learning so much from ypur videos
Thank you so much.
Me too! I reached a so called plateau which kept me prisoner. I just did the water droplet exercise and it was a revelation 😅
Yayyy glad to hear that!
Talk about good good good stuff, even going back to the basics from time to time is good for all of us. I had fun with this and also had a reminder of things that I forgot.
Keep drawing and keep smiling and havea great day ya'll.
P.S. Thank you so much for your time in making these tutorials, what a wonderful job you are doing.
thanks for the feedback Doug, appreaciate it!
Have you ever worked with Robert Marzullo before?
No but I do follow him. Very good at breaking down anatomy!
Great lesson, thank you
You're welcome :)
Very useful tutorial!
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching 🙏
Thank you so much. I now have a practice map, a PLAN! A genuine daily plan. Something I have been looking for a long time. Have plenty of pencils and paper (thanks to my wife) but now I feel I have a Path to follow. Again. Thank you.
Yaaaayyy glad to hear that! It's hard to learn when you don't have a plan. Let me know if there is anything you find you struggle with and I'll see if I can help with a video.
If you run out of things to practice with your daily plan it's good to repeat the lessons a few times so the skills become more natural and you can play around with them and make up your own similar exercises.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your tutorials. Very enjoyable.
You're welcome, glad you've enjoyed them 😊
Thank you! I don't practice much but your lessons make me more motivated and feel like there's still hope. Inspired!
Glad to hear I've restored your hope 🙃 To be honest it is really hard to stay motivated. But even when you are not motivated if you make yourself draw for 10-15 minutes you'll stay on the practice path and it all adds up.
Thank you for your efforts and I always wait for new updates on the channel❤❤❤
You're welcome, thanks for watching 😊
