- Honestly I'm the last person to talk about a topic like this because I can't even dress LOL! Some would probably call me a hypebeast myself and I'm not gonna argue haha!
But this is all fun and games so I hope ya'll enjoyed the video on Street Fashion Starter Kits! As a small summary I went over all the different types of fashion starter kits, from (The Fashion Normy, HYPEBEASTS, Workwear, Archive Beasts, etc etc) I tried to break down some of the fits they normally wear and used some memes to help me along the way.
I'm sure I missed a lot in the video and even got some of the info wrong (possibly), so help us out to fill us in, in the comments section below!

I believe the shift from hypebeast to archivebeast is a good thing. 1. There is no more logomania 2. There is way more value to old clothes, which is good for the environment 3. There can actually be a deeper investment into fashion
With fashion, progression is supposed to happen. The problem with archivebeasts is their progression is only due to conformity. With them trying to seem more knowledgeable and ‘evolve’ has solely been so they don’t get made fun of. They know that they’re only following trends. (Your points about the environmental impact is great)
agree with all but the first. logomania isnt a thing for them but instead i feel like they are still wearing things for the brand and clout
I'd have to agree and disagree. A lot of archive stuff is what has set the foundation for the fashion that we consume and appreciate now (whether we see it reflected directly and know about it or no) and it's always a positive thing to be educated on such especially in an environment that values blind consumerism; it's a great way of transitioning out of that early phase of buying what you see others wear and is probably one of the best ways to develop your interests and hone your opinion. I think that archive beasts often seem really stuck up though, which I admit definitely doesn't represent the majority of the crowd but unfortunately they're generally who get the attention, and can sometimes get stuck in the past almost become those same consumerist hype beasts just for older fashion. I think all of it is good in balance but I really do wish I saw people pushing newer fashion and trying to develop and support newer designers and their ideas cus ultimately that's what is gonna represent our generation I guess and that's really what's gonna develop a better industry. plus a lot of new designers are creating in a more eco-friendly manner paying attention to the impact the industry has on the environment and what not (stella and Phipps come to mind). unfortunately a lot of the really nice thought out stuff is super expensive once you get into the higher end of fashion and makes it hard for people who really appreciate the stuff to actually acquire it and implement it into their personal style, I know I'd love to rock a bunch of shit that I see but it's not the most fiscally responsible to buy a bunch of cool shit to try it cus not everything works and a lot of it doesn't necessarily hold it's value in secondary markets like a bogo will. this is getting way to existential and off topic and shit its way too late this just seems like the right comment section to have a serious conversation about this type of shit

I just love brands like FTP for t shirts, Uniqlo for hoodies since they are so cheap, cargo pants or washed jeans or nylon shorts, a pair of budget Jordan’s and a pair of ultra boosts for comfortability. That’s my whole closet basically.

I think if archive hypebeasts go to learn about fashion shows and fashion related knowledge, they will also become fashion fashion guys.
Because archive brands such as undercover, raf simons, jean paul gaultier are also fashion brands, they can be street-level or fashion-conscious. For example, the clothes of raf simons used to have a street feel, but now the clothes will be more inclined to high fashion in silhouette and tailoring. So, in fact, as long as archive beasts are willing to dig deeper into fashion, they can also become very fashionable.

Maybe unpop opinion, but Jerry Boys and a few of these style kits are almost cool again now that they are no longer as diluted, and I appreciate the consistency to a decent style they enjoy
