When I work aboard shjp, I use carbon blade for serious cutting. When I chase trolls through woods, I use those pretty butter knife chrome blades.

For a ferro rod it doesn't matter what steel the blade is made of as long as it has a 90 degree spine. When it comes to striking a flint against it to create a spark it has to be a carbon based steel.

Left and right just means what sheath you get with the knife ...The handle shape doesnt change its just a left handed sheath carry option is available.
99% of companies dont offer left hand sheath options.

Yes, I recognized that after I uploaded the video ;-)
You are right the knife is no different at the handle, only the leather sheath ;-)

You should try the joker bushlord it’s not a bad knife for the price.

Yes, I had a look at the Spanish made Joker knife, and it really looks nice, but since I have the Caström Lars Fält knife already in use for years now, it serving me very well for my needs. I'm more than happy with it, so there is no point getting any more knifes at all, I'm not a collector but required a good reliable tool. ;-)
Nevertheless, the Joker Buslord definitely would make a good alternative too, has a slightly thinner spine (3.6mm) than the Lars Fält (4.0mm), but would do for most tasks.

that nordico blade looks nice and got a symmetric shape, seams to be a good all-rounder too without fuss.

      Yes you can!
Ballistol will keep your axe rust free and always in good shape.

Ballistol and wax for long term storage (for exain all of themmple when Spring comes, the storage might last until the next winter) or if you're going to use it occasionally, use just Ballistol. The Material on the Spray cans they sell, isn't the same in all of them, read carefully before you buy. Also, if you want to use Ballistol, on a knife or leather, wood etc, I'd advise to get the Ballistol in the small glass bottle, because it's the original product, without the added chemical stuff they put inside the Spray cans. Hope this helps.

@@greekveteran2715 Yes, you are right with your additional infos regarding the spray cans version of Ballistol.
My father used to use the airosol-Ballistol only on his hunting shotgun rifle for convenience to apply a thin overall coating, but the liquid Ballistol in this glass bottles is the original and recommended on steel blades, leather and wood for general maintenances and long-term storage, you are absolutely correct there, thanks for your comment.👍

Why not get a good scraper for you firewood? Even if I have a firewood for emergency on my knife and the spine is sharp I will use my large firewood and a good scraper. I have that always in my bakpack together with dry birch back for starting fires. What you get as fumes and sparks on the blade from the firewood is presumably not very healthy if you cut food afterwards.

Well, I don't carry a specific tool for every single task to reduce the amount of items to carry, and more important not to lose one or the other while keeping track of what I got in my pack, because the more someone carry's the clutters the pack getting too.
I just one of the “less is more” minimalistic multi usable kit approach and keep things as simple as possible.
Update to the Lars Fält knife:
Just seen that Casström brought out a newest edition of the Lars Fält knife (seams to be the Sleipner steel) including a Magnesium rod attached to the sheath, with a Birch handle to match the knife handle too.
