What are your favorite memories from the Texas Motor Speedway?
It was 14 it was jeffs next to last year because that cost him a shot at the final 4
My favorite memory will be when FOX is no longer a broadcast partner with NASCAR.

The 2014 brawl is def my favorite texas memory.
It was 2014. Gordon failed to make the Championship 4 that year because of that incident. 2015 Gordon won Martinsville which locked him into Homestead. C'mon even I know that. Pay me millions FOX. Even $500K per year I'll take.
2014 was the best year. 850+hp, fights at texas, charlotte, Jeff gordon and Harvick were on it that year. Those cars sounded so awesome if you were lucky enough to see a live race that year.
These guys have their facts so backwards. It was 2014. Harvick should know since he won the championship that year. In 2014 Jeff Gordon was in the middle of the battle of the Championship which pretty much ended when Brad Keslowski cut Jeff Gordon’s tire down.

As I was listening to this podcast while at work, I kept thinking it was 2014. I got home and looked it up and watched the closing laps...one thing that stood out to me that I thought was pretty funny was Rusty Wallace during the caution leading up to the contact between Gordon and Keselowski said "Stay tuned because I really think this next restart, is gonna be something we are gonna remember for a long time!!" Lol...oh how right he was!!😂
You all have it wrong and Kevin continues to think this was 2015 haha. This was 2014, and Kevin kept getting asked about it on his championship media tour. Wasn’t Gordon’s retirement year either.
I believe his point about shifting the narrative though. He left Texas in 8th headed into Phoenix as a cutoff race. Won Phoenix and won Homestead
I have a picture of me as a kid 4 or so sitting on Bobby Allisions lap at a signing in Daytona. Def so Kev interactions like that from drivers like you guys keep kids fans for life. Even through the questionable era of NASCAR you know from 2002 - NOW.

Definitely happened in 2014 but his commentary is still accurate outside of the year. If I remember correctly he was struggling with performance around this time and it wasn't looking like he was going to make the final 4 until he ended up winning Pheonix the race after Texas then obviously going on to win the championship.

If you are going to be avid NASCAR fans get the facts right. This was 2014c and it was the year BEFORE Jeff’s retirement. Jeff won 4 races that season and was looking like a potential 5 time champion. Jeff only won one race in his last year. Facts matter

I remember reading a NASCAR writer saying that Harvick pushing Brad towards Jeff was like watching his daughters playground where a little girl pushes another little girl to fight. Harvick acted like a little girl in that instance and that writer was right on target. When I read that I thought to myself yeah that's accurate, that's right on target as far as the depiction of what happened.

Almost. Jeff had a chance at Martinsville and Phoenix. At Martinsville he finished second to Dale Jr. I believe and didn't advance. At Phoenix, Ryan Newman passed Larson on the last lap and Gordon was out. After Texas it wasn't over for Jeff, but unhappy he was.
I'm sorry, this is part of the issue with NASCAR coverage. The people talking about major memorable moment not knowing the context makes it unwatchable.

2015 Texas. Jimmie destroyed Keselowski, who dominated that race and then didn't advance.
This is why the sport can’t move forward. It’s the little things. This happened in 14. Kevin should know because he won the championship that year SOLELY because of this moment. Gordon would’ve absolutely won the championship that year. He was consistently the fastest car and was THE fastest at homestead. He only lost that race because he decided to pit late in the race to let the final 4 race. He had no other reason to if you re watch the race. I still hate Brad to this day for this moment. 15 Gordon made it to final 4 but he wasn’t nearly as fast that year.
Agree. And 2015 it was Jimmie's year, but he fell out the first round, had a fight with Harvick and then at Dover Harvick had to win to advance and Jimmie had mechanical issue, but he was the best that year, won regular championship. In 2015 Harvick like finished 2nd every race and then 2nd in the championship.

That wreck was Carl's doing,look at the replay.Carl moves left to block Brad and Brads got position on him. Carl even acknowledged it later on in years in a interview
