Retrofit of Apple CarPlay into the Nissan Qashqai/xtrail platform.
This is a great upgrade to add new features to the vehicle while retaining the head-unit + genuine 360 degree camera.
Many people ask to change the radio but are informed they will lose this camera! So our integrated CarPlay kit is the answer!

I test drove a Qashqai today but it didn't have apple/android so this is good to know that at some stage I can put it in there. Very clear video, good work.

You should go to the store called In Car Music in the UK. Ask them and see if they have the module for your car

Nissan did a pathethic thing.. we bought also a 2017. And it wont connect..! This is not acceptable... we should get the update from nissan for free !!!!!!

Hey there, I have a 2016 X-trail ST only , but wondering if it would be easy to get a second hand ST-L unit with the larger touch screen as shown in your video, is it a easy replacement for the ST and the 1 reverse camera would this work correctly with the larger ST-L unit? as I don't have a 360 camera
DragonScale1988 Yep that would be easy enough however I strongly recommend looking at a replacement head unit instead, I have a video going up soon it’s a complete “how to” on replacing the head unit on the ST, with an alpine unit, all genuine features still work + you get CarPlay and android auto and you also get a high def capacitive touch screen 👌🏽 much better
@@TheFittingBay Thanks for the quick reply, that was the other option I was looking at however the parts that are holding me back are boot up times for aftermarket headunits and also retaining a stock look, will keep an eye for your next video
DragonScale1988 have a look at the ILX-702D relatively quick boot up time also keep in mind when you watch a review like one of mine. The unit is on a power supply so it’s constant and ign are both off then they turn on and the initial boot up time is substantially longer.
In a car the 12v constant feed always has power and switching the ignition on turns the unit on and it boots up much faster.
This unit you can change the splash screen (I have a video how to) and it’ll boot up with the nissan logo 👌🏽

Same process, if it has the same head unit. We are also working on a solution to change the head unit + retain 360 camera.

You will have to DIY or have a professional do it. It’s fairly hard but it does have instructions. It can take a week but up to 2 weeks due to COVID and shipping delays

Also i saw in other video (i think it was a pathfinder) where you changed the usb in the console so it looks as stock - do you have similar tricks for x-trial ( I don't like the idea that i will have cable and a switch placed as on the video)
snakespower Yep a shop near you can do it and they are welcome to contact me for support.
USB yes we have found many great ways to do this, including using the cig lighter socket for a flush mount. That’s up to you and your installer to work out. But yes there is many great ways it can be done
@@TheFittingBay is it possible for to show me some of the solutions. And if you are using a custom caps or something like that, can you send me those too - I just don't believe that my local shop can make it look as good as you can.

Capo Moss Hi mate! Do you have a local install shop nearby? If you find a store you can call them and ask if they work with “OEM integration” as in fitting modules for OEM integration and if they know what you’re talking about that’s who you should talk to or you could DIY it 👌🏽

Capo Moss Doesn’t affect the original system at all. All works as normal. Plus if you’re in CarPlay the 360cam takes over in Reverse. However not from pressing c button. If I was there I’d gladly do it 🙏🏽

Capo Moss When you press the camera button now, it switches to the camera view (selected models with 360). When in CarPlay mode it will not take over the screen you’ll have to go back to the OEM system. However reverse gear will take over any screen inc CarPlay to show camera view
Interesting, i am assuming that warranty will be voided if i do this while under warranty?
Guess it depends. Probably but the whole thing is completely reversible so there’s that too.

@@mygeorge32n Yep unfortunately this is the only way right now. We are working on a plug and play replacement head unit (any name brand) and you can retain the cams :)
